Leland, in coastal North Carolina:  Just across the rivers (Cape Fear and Brunswick) lies a land of opportunity and promise.

Named after the son of the local Postmaster years ago, Leland has slept in the shadow of the historical city of Wilmington for many years…

Recently Leland, now known as the “Gateway” to beautiful Brunswick County is ”morphing” to the new Bruswick Town it is destined to become.

New housing developements, shopping centers and civic centers will soon rival the streets of downtown Wilmington in friendly competition for business, recreation and retirement making places like Brunswick Forest, Magnolia Greens, Waterford, Westport, Mallory Creek and many other neighborhoods the choice for active people from all over.

Just a little encouragment in some areas of general “housekeeping” will have people sitting up and taking notice…

Imagine highways with neatly trimed and flowering vista’s flowing through the area…Sidewalks and river walks for people to prominade on…Clean parks and boat ramps for recreation with small boats.

Of course, there will be new schools, ball fields, civic auditoriums and churches for “One nation under God”

Guest Comment:  Who Are the “Palestinians” (partial quote)

“Misrepresentation of the Palestinian refugee phenomenon has been intended to deligitimize Israel and to legitimize the “claim of return” as a means to destroy Israel.”   According to UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency )reports:  “A Palestinian refugee was any Arab who stayed in the country for two years prior to 1948. A major migration from Muslim countries took place during 1830-1947. The origin of most of the refugees was from Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Algeria and Libya. Thousands of Arab migrant workers were imported by the Ottoman Empire and Britain for infrastructure projects.”

Joseph Farah, in “Myths of the Middle East” states:   “Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians, Syrians Iraqis, etc. Keep in mind that the Arabs control 99.9 percent of the Middle East lands. Israel represents one-tenth of one percent of the Middle East lands. But that’s too much for the Arabs. They want it all. And that is ultimately what the fighting in Israel is about today…No matter how many land concessions the Israelis make, it will never be enough.”   A further expose of the Palestinian myth is found in a statement by Zuhair Muhsin, a former military commander of the PLO and member of the PLO Executive Council:  “There are no differences between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. We are all part of one nation. It is for political reasons that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity…yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel.”

WHO IS OCCUPYING WHO’S LAND?

Israel is the only country on earth that is inhabited today by the same nation, with the same religion and culture and speaking the same language as that which lived in it 3,300 years ago.   The land was invaded by: Assyrians, Babylonians, Syrians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Kurds, Mamelukes, Mongols, Tartars, Crusaders, Turks, Persians, French and British.   The Jews were the only people who fought the invaders and liberated the land from foreign rule in ancient and modern times.  Of all ethnic groups only Jews possess historical, cultural and religious roots and Biblical legal rights to the land.  The Jews are the only indigenous nation in Israel.  The Jews pioneered and developed the land.
Historically speaking, all the foreign residents in the land are relatively newcomers.  To set the historical record straight a Jewish homeland was endorsed in 1920 by 52 members of the League of Nations. This included all of Israel, the present West Bank, Gaza and all of Jordan. This was an area of 43,075 square miles.  In 1946, Britain illegally amputated Transjordan and gave it to the Arabs with 32.460 square miles leaving 10,615 square miles to Western Eretz Israel. Cutting out Judea, Samaria and Gaza leaves less than 8,000 square miles for Israel.

The United Nations HQ in Jerusalem is sitting on a hill that, for centuries, has been called, “Hill of Evil Counsel.” [It figures.]  The West Bank is an invented name for the Biblical Judea and Samaria.  Mahmoud Abbas, also known as Abu Mazen, trained by Yasser Arafat is an avowed anti-Semite. He acquired his doctorate from a Soviet university where he wrote his doctrinal thesis based on the theory that the Holocaust never took place. Mr. Abbas considers Jerusalem to be the eternal capitol of the Palestine Authority.  In a commentary by Mike Evans in  WorldNetDaily, he asks the question, “Is Mahmoud, a.k.a. Abu Mazen, a wolf in sheep’s clothing, or is he the answer to peace in the Middle East?

The foundation of Palestinian ideology is the denial of Israel’s right to exist. Jewish history has been rewritten and Jewish historical presence in the Land of Israel has been erased. All agreements with Israel are said to be temporary. Palestinian Authority Television regularly broadcasts songs, dance, sermons, and video clips encouraging Palestinians to anticipate, visualize and hope for Israel’s destruction and replacement by a future “Palestine” “from the River to the Sea.”   The dual nature of these messages is significant, as they are preparing Palestinians for ongoing conflict and not for peaceful resolution. With this attitude they are preparing their people for ongoing conflict and are destroying any chance of peace for the foreseeable future.  On November 28, 2007, the day after the Annapolis Conference, official PA television broadcast a map of the region obliterating Israel completely and replacing it with a Palestinian flag.    end of quote

The Lord bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel.  Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God.  Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. 1.  Federal Court Judge Clears Way for Obama Eligibility Lawsuit     The Israel Report  Nov 14th
     It seems that the above report from last weeks Alert was erroneous.  If you follow this link  h ttp://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/10/birthers-lawsuit-challenging-obam as-election-dismissed.html you will read that the case was in fact dismissed on teechnical grounds.  Seems Democracy is dead in the USA.  From what I have seen the case against Obama’s eligibilty may well be valid, but he has total control of the system and wont allow the case to be given a fair hearing. What ever happened to  ” We the people ” ?

2. Netanyahu Announces 10-month Settlement Freeze   ICEJ News   Nov 25th
After convening his security cabinet on Wednesday afternoon to consider a ten-month settlement freeze, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced this evening that – pending full cabinet approval on Sunday – the government will order a temporary halt to all new residential housing starts in Judea and Samaria in hopes it will show the world he is “serious about peace.”  Netanyahu called the move a “far-reaching and painful step,” designed to “encourage resumption of peace talks with our Palestinian neighbors,” so the two sides can reach an “historic peace agreement.” He clarified, however, that the building freeze would not apply to Jerusalem, nor to schools, synagogues and other public buildings or some 3,000 homes already started in Jewish communities in the West Bank. A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office beforehand explained that Netanyahu was asking the security cabinet t o approve the ten-month halt to “promote Israel’s broad national interests.” Defense Minister Ehud Barak strongly endorsed the decision, saying it was based on an understanding with the United States pertaining to renewed negotiations. With a few exceptions, Israel has already been maintaining a de facto freeze on new housing starts in the territories since November of last year, and Netanyahu’s unprecedented move to impose an official moratorium is likely tied to larger strategic calculations with the Obama administration concerning the Iranian nuclear threat. While immediately welcomed in Washington, it has met with sharp criticism from settlement leaders and was swiftly rejected by the Palestinian Authority.

3. Israelis to Obama: Back Off!    Israel Today News    Nov 22
    Israel’s regular War and Peace Index poll revealed last week that the vast majority of Israelis don’t trust US President Barack Obama and want him to back off on pressure for Israel to meet Arab demands.   Over two-thirds of respondents said Obama is being too aggressive and unfair with Israel and needs to take a step back. Israelis never demanded less involvement from past US presidents in the peace process.   That things are different with Obama probably has a lot to do with Israelis’ perception that he is blatantly pro-Arab, a view held by over 40 percent of respondents in the recent survey.  Over sixty percent of Israelis said that in addition to simply not trusting Obama, there is no point to the current US pressure, since Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas is either unwilling or incapable of reaching a genuine peace deal with Israel.
 
4. Israel bombs Gaza in response to rocket fire   Israel Today News  Nov 24th
    Israeli warplanes early Tuesday morning struck Hamas arms depots in northern and southern Gaza in response to Palestinian rocket fire on southern Israel a day earlier.  During the early evening hours on Monday, a Palestinian rocket fired from Hamas-ruled Gaza landed between two communities in southern Israel, causing no injuries or damage.  The Israeli response came during hours when the terrorist arms depots were devoid of personnel.  The Israeli army confirmed the aerial strikes later on Tuesday, and insisted that it “will not tolerate attacks from terror organizations on the State of Israel’s territory and will continue to operate with a firm hand against any attempt to disrupt the calm in Israel’s towns and the south of the country.”

5. NATO Bucks Trend, Views Israeli Army as Model for Modern Warfare   Israel Today News   Nov 24th
     While the nations of the world, armed with the Goldstone Report, accuse the Israel Defense Forces of being a repressive army that routinely commits war crimes, the head of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was in Israel last week to study the tactics and methods of the IDF.   The Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee, Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola, said during his two-day visit that he was studying the IDF in order to gain a better understanding of how to deal with the ongoing war in Afghanistan.  Adm. Di Paola and Israeli army chief Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi also discussed upgrading ties between NATO and the IDF, including plans for an Israeli warship to join a routine patrol of the eastern Mediterranean by NATO naval forces.  The timing of Adm. Di Paola’s visit was significant in that is coincided with pressure from some NATO members and allies, in particular Turkey, to downgrade relations with Israel in light of alleged war crimes in Gaza.

6. Survey Finds Israel Best in Region for Venture Capital    ICEJ News  Nov 25th
Israel is the most appealing country in the Middle East for venture capital and private equity investment, according to a new survey. Israel ranked 22nd overall, beating out the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, in The Global Venture Capital and Private Equity Country Attractiveness Index, which was published Monday by global accountants Ernst & Young. Countries are measured based on their social, cultural and economic environment, taxation, governance and business infrastructure

7.  Medical Break-throughs In Israel   JNN News Nov  22
The Israeli death rate from heart disease has dropped by 50% in the last nine years, even though it continues to be the main cause of illness and death in Israel. Deaths from cardiovascular disease have declined due to improved drugs and medical procedures, including angioplasty; awareness about the need to quit smoking, exercise and eat properly; and early diagnosis. (J.Post)

NEW WOUND DRESSING MIMICS SKIN: Prof. Meital Zilberman of Tel Aviv University has developed a new wound dressing that is filled with antibiotics and that dissolves when the wound is healed.  A study shows the new dressing can eradicate infection-causing bacteria after only two days. Prof. Zilberman designed the dressing to mimic skin and the way it protects the body. (Arutz-7)

Travesty in New York

Nov 22, 2009 22:06 | Updated Nov 23, 2009 10:24 By CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER For late-19th-century anarchists, terrorism was the “propaganda of the deed.” And the most successful propaganda-by-deed in history was 9/11 – not just the most destructive, but the most spectacular and telegenic. Guantanamo Bay inmate Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. And now its self-proclaimed architect, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, has been given by the Obama administration a civilian trial in New York. Just as the memory fades, 9/11 has been granted a second life – and KSM, a second act: “9/11, The Director’s Cut,” narration by KSM. September 11, 2001 had to speak for itself. A decade later, the deed will be given voice. KSM has gratuitously been presented with the greatest propaganda platform imaginable – a civilian trial in the media capital of the world – from which to proclaim the glory of jihad and the criminality of infidel America. So why is Attorney General Eric Holder doing this? Ostensibly, to demonstrate to the world the superiority of our system where the rule of law and the fair trial reign. Really? What happens if KSM (and his co-defendants) “do not get convicted,” asked Senate Judiciary Committee member Herb Kohl. “Failure is not an option,” replied Holder. Not an option? Doesn’t the presumption of innocence, er, presume that prosecutorial failure – acquittal, hung jury – is an option? By undermining that presumption, Holder is undermining the fairness of the trial, the demonstration of which is the alleged rationale for putting on this show in the first place. Moreover, everyone knows that whatever the outcome of the trial, KSM will never walk free. He will spend the rest of his natural life in US custody. Which makes the proceedings a farcical show trial from the very beginning. Apart from the fact that any such trial will be a security nightmare and a terror threat to New York – what better propaganda-by-deed than blowing up the entire courtroom, making KSM a martyr and making the judge, jury and spectators into fresh victims? – it will endanger US security. CIVILIAN COURTS with broad rights of cross-examination and discovery give terrorists access to crucial information about intelligence sources and methods. That’s precisely what happened during the civilian New York trial of the 1993 World Trade Center bombers. The prosecution was forced to turn over to the defense a list of two hundred unindicted co-conspirators, including the name Osama bin Laden. “Within ten days, a copy of that list reached bin Laden in Khartoum,” wrote former Attorney General Michael Mukasey, the presiding judge at that trial, “letting him know that his connection to that case had been discovered.” Finally, there’s the moral logic. It’s not as if Holder opposes military commissions on principle. On the same day he sent KSM to a civilian trial in New York, Holder announced he was sending Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, mastermind of the attack on the USS Cole, to a military tribunal. By what logic? In his congressional testimony Wednesday, Holder was utterly incoherent in trying to explain. In his November 13 news conference, he seemed to be saying that if you attack a civilian target, as in 9/11, you get a civilian trial; a military target like the Cole, and you get a military tribunal. What a perverse moral calculus. Which is the war crime – an attack on defenseless civilians or an attack on a military target such as a warship, an accepted act of war which the US itself has engaged in countless times? By what possible moral reasoning, then, does KSM, who perpetrates the obvious and egregious war crime, receive the special protections and constitutional niceties of a civilian courtroom, while he who attacked a warship is relegated to a military tribunal? Moreover, the incentive offered any jihadi is as irresistible as it is perverse: Kill as many civilians as possible on American soil and Holder will give you Miranda rights, a lawyer, a propaganda platform – everything but your own blog. Alternatively, Holder tried to make the case that he chose a civilian New York trial as a more likely venue for securing a conviction. An absurdity: By the time Obama came to office, KSM was ready to go before a military commission, plead guilty and be executed. It’s Obama who blocked a process that would have yielded the swiftest and most certain justice. Indeed, the perfect justice. Whenever a jihadist volunteers for martyrdom, we should grant his wish. Instead, this one, the most murderous and unrepentant of all, gets to dance and declaim at the scene of his crime. Holder himself told The Washington Post that the coming New York trial will be “the trial of the century.” The last such was the trial of O.J. Simpson. - The Washington Post

The “Silent” Majority is still here

Where did the “Silent Majority” go??? Posted: 20 Nov 2009 03:50 PM PST During the decade of the seventies the “Silent Majority” was often spoken of in the press. Prominent politicians, including the President, openly sought their support. Well, where did they go? Oh, they’re still here… and just as powerful as before. You see them everyday. They’re all around you. They are the folks you see at parties who stand around the edges of a group discussing politics. They rarely have any input into the discussion… they just absorb it. They’re the folks who do not sit in on the coffee klatch discussion on politics and world affairs. They’re the people who go to church, nearly every Sunday, and raise their children to be respectful of others and live useful, productive lives. They send their kids to church supported universities and colleges for a good education, rather than an indoctrination in the ways of the political left. The Silent Majority is the folk who never miss an opportunity to vote. They believe men died to give them that opportunity, and they will not abuse the memory of those heroic men by not going to the polls to vote. They are also the people who will not tell those taking the Exit Polls who they voted for. They voted in secret, it’s their secret, and they will keep it, often never even divulging it to their families. They are, for the most part, conservative in politics as well as religion. These are the people who shop at Wal-Mart, and K-mart, and drive 2, 3 or 4 year old cars. Most own their own homes. They have savings accounts and they have a family budget, which they will not abuse. Their lives are built around their families and their church. Many are veterans of America’s armed forces. They believe this country is worth fighting for and they will put their own lives on the line to protect her. They view politics as a necessary evil. They believe they should always vote for the man who best represents their belief. They will not support a candidate just because he, or she, wears the label of the party to which they, themselves, are registered. They wield enormous power. These people can make, or break, a presidential election. When they step into the voting booth, they speak, loud and clear. It is there that the Silent Majority rejects their silence and shouts their politics to the world. Today the Silent Majority has joined forces with the outspoken Conservative Movement in America in a desperate attempt to save America from the clutches of socialism. President Obama and our socialist Congress should be mindful of these powerful Americans. They see it all, and they hear it all, and they silently form their conclusion about who should get their support. Politicians, beware! You neglect the Silent Majority at your peril.– especially now that they have found their audible voice through the outspoken Conservative Movement (Example: The Tea Party movement). Then — there is the Mainstream Media. The voice of the American left. They make fun of one of the mightiest forces in American politics. The Silent Majority never fails to notice the press’s stifled giggles; and their backhanded insults of the conservative politics of these very real, very patriotic, Americans. They see it all and… they remember… and they take those memories into the voting booth with them. So, here’s to the Silent Majority! May God bless them!

1. Palestinians Seek EU Support for Plan to Declare Statehood     Ha Aretz News   Nov 16th

    The Palestinians asked the European Union on Monday to back their plan to have the United Nations Security Council recognize an independent Palestinian state without Israeli consent.   The idea of seeking UN intervention has been gaining steam in the Arab world as the impasse in peacemaking drags on. The Palestinians seek a state in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem, territories Israel captured in 1967.  “We will seek the support of all members of the international community,” Saeb Erekat, a top adviser to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, told reporters in Ramallah. Besides the EU, they also plan to seek U.S. approval, Erekat said.   EU foreign ministers will discuss the Arab-backed proposal at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, said Petra Dachtler, an adviser to the EU’s special Middle East envoy, Marc Otte. Because the idea has only been floated recently, the EU has yet to formulate an opinion, she said.  The EU is not on the Security Council, but EU members France and Britain are permanent council members that wield veto power.
    The plan appears to be largely symbolic, given that the U.S., Israel’s chief ally, would likely veto such an initiative at the United Nations. It also would not remove the 500,000 Israelis living in West Bank settlements and east Jerusalem neighborhoods.   The move, however, reflects growing Palestinian frustration with the deadlock in peace efforts. Palestinian officials say they hope international endorsement would force Israel to recognize a future Palestine’s borders based on the pre-1967 lines.

2. Hamas to Palestinians: End Occupation, Then Declare State   Ha Aretz News  Nov 16th

   Earlier Monday, Hamas rejected the PA initiative, saying true independence required the complete cessation of Israeli occupation.  The Islamist militant group pointed out that a unilateral declaration of statehood had already been made by the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in 1988.  If it had to be done again, Hamas spokesman Salah Bardweel said on Monday, “why not declare a Palestinian state from the sea [Mediterranean] to the river [of Jordan]” rather than in the West Bank and Gaza only.  The declaration proposed by Erekat would have no meaning and was merely an attempt by the rival Palestinian camp of President Mahmoud Abbas to pretend it had an alternative to faltering peace negotiations, other than armed struggle, said Bardweel.  “This move is not a meaningful declaration. It simply aims at escaping the benefits of resistance against the occupation,” he said. “Instead of threatening to unilaterally declare a Palestinian state to be established in the air, we should work on liberating the occupied territories and end the current internal Palestinian division.”  Declaring a state “in the air on 20 per cent of the Palestinian land, which would be rejected by the world,” was not the solution, he argued. Rather, Palestinians should focus on their own “ability to liberate the land.”

3. Israel Will Not Take Kindly to Palestinian Declaration of Independence    Israel Today News  Nov 16th

     Israeli leaders on Monday reiterated that a threatened unilateral Palestinian declaration of independence would be a mistake that would have long-lasting negative consequences for Palestinian aspirations of statehood.  Speaking before the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said a Palestinian declaration of independence would be doomed to failure since it would violate and thereby nullify the Palestinians’ agreement with Israel, freeing the Jewish state to reassert sovereignty over all the territories in question.   A day earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted that is precisely what would happen, warning that a unilateral Palestinian declaration would result in even more severe unilateral steps by Israel.   Lieberman also insisted that the UN Security Council was unlikely to give its backing to a Palestinian state formed outside the framework of an agreement with Israel.
     But chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat told a Palestinian newspaper at the weekend that he had received “positive responses” to feelers put out at the UN. Erekat said that Palestinian representatives had won tacit approval for such a move from many Security Council members, even possibly the US.  The Palestinians claim that Israel is destroying the peace process and that there is little hope of a bilateral two-state agreement at this point, despite repeated attempts by Netanyahu to get Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas back to the negotiating table.

4. Gaza Arms Smuggling at Pre-Cast Lead Levels   ICEJ News  Nov 18th

Palestinian arms smuggling from Egypt into the Gaza Strip underneath the Philadelphi Corridor near Rafah has increased greatly over the past few months, reverting back to the level that existed before Operation Cast Lead last winter, according to The Jerusalem Post. The IDF claimed to have destroyed 300 tunnels during Cast Lead and now, it is estimated that between 350 and 500 tunnels are operating. Israel believes Egypt could completely stop the smuggling within 24 hours, but refuses to help because the resultant trade is vital to the local economy in Sinai and Egyptian officers are often bribed to look the other way. In related news, the Gaza Strip has seen a nearly 900 percent increase in humanitarian aid this year compared to 2008, the head of the IDF’s Gaza Coordination and Liaison Administration, Col. Moshe Levi, said on Monday. Levi denied reports that there is a humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, calling the situation “stable.”

5.  IAF Strikes Weapons Factory, Border Tunnel in Gaza   ICEJ News    Nov 19

The Israeli Air Force destroyed a weapons manufacturing site in the southern Gaza Strip and two smuggling tunnels in the Rafah border area on Wednesday night, responding to a Kassam rocket fired at Israel from Gaza earlier in the day, the latest of around 750 missiles that have been fired at Israel from Gaza in 2009. The latest air sorties in Gaza came as The Jerusalem Post reported on Thursday that the IAF is preparing its pilots to face the growing threat from the sophisticated anti-aircraft and ballistic missile threat from Iran and its proxies in Gaza and Lebanon. “We need to strengthen the human factor in the air force so they are prepared for all these different possibilities,” a senior IAF officer said Wednesday. Meanwhile, an old fashioned threat to the IAF has emerged in the form of what some officers are calling a “mini intifada” of harassment of IAF pilots by Beduin who live along a main road that leads to the Ne vatim Base in the Negev. Military cars traveling along Route 31 connecting Nevatim and Beersheva have had rocks thrown at them and one pilot was dragged out of his vehicle and beaten.

6. Federal Court Judge Clears Way for Obama Eligibility Lawsuit     The Israel Report  Nov 14th

      Many concerned veterans and citizens attended the hearing in Federal Court in Santa Ana in the lawsuit against Barack Obama to determine his eligibility to be President and Commander in Chief.  About 150 people showed up, almost all in support of the lawsuit to demand that Obama release his birth certificate and other records that he has hidden from the American people.  Judge David Carter refused to hear Obama’s request for dismissal. He indicated there was almost no chance that this case would be dismissed. Obama is arguing this lawsuit was filed in the wrong court if you can believe that.  Obama would prefer a “kangaroo court” instead of a Federal court!  Assuming Judge Carter denies Obama’s motion for dismissal, he will likely then order expedited discovery which will force Obama to release his birth certificate in a timely manner (if he has one).   The judge, WHO IS A FORMER U.S. MARINE, repeated several times that this is A VERY SERIOUS CASE which must be resolved quickly so that the troops know that their Commander in Chief is eligible to hold that position and issue lawful orders to our military in this time of war. He basically said OBAMA MUST PROVE HIS ELIGIBILITY to the court! He said Americans deserve to know the truth about their President!      The two U.S. Attorneys representing Barack Obama tried everything they could to sway the judge that this case was frivolous, but Carter would have none of it and cut them off several times.  Obama’s attorneys left the courtroom after the 90 minute hearing looking defeated and nervous.   Great day in America for the U.S. Constitution!  The truth about Barack Obama’s eligibility will be known fairly soon – Judge Carter practically guaranteed it!   

7. Israel Sets All-Time Tourism Mark For Month of October   ICEJ News  Nov 13th

Tourism to Israel last month was up 9 percent over October of last year, setting an all-time high for the month, the Tourism Ministry reported Thursday. Some 330,000 tourists visits Israel last month, bringing the year-to-date total to 2.3 million, Ministry statistics show. “The change in the negative trend since the beginning of the year can be attributed to the marketing and focus of Israel as the Holy Land with Jerusalem at its center and the marketing efforts to bring target communities to Israel,” Tourism Minister Stas Meseznikov said Thursday. He added that the figures are encouraging, but more needs to be done such as putting more emphasis on Israel as a land of sacred faith, adding more hotel rooms across different classes and removing bureaucratic obstacles.

A compilation of news reports from the past week for the information of those committed to praying
When Menachem Begin signed the Camp David Accords in September 1978, and followed this up by signing the Israel-Egypt peace treaty of March 1979, he initiated Israel’s defensive and losing strategy.   Let’s face a simple but unpleasant truth: Only a fool surrenders land won in a war of self-defense to the aggressor-surrenders land for what Anwar Sadat mockingly called “a piece of paper.”   Without firing a shot, Sadat won the greatest victory in military or diplomatic history. From an adversary superior in arms he regained the entire Sinai, including its strategic air bases built by Israel, and oil fields Israel had made productive. Begin surrendered all this-a twelve billion dollar infrastructure-for verbiage!  Sadat also manipulated Begin into abandoning the Jewish settlement of Yamit. This surrender infected Israel’s mentality with the pathological policy of “land for peace.” If this were not enough, Sadat conned Begin into signing the first international agreement that referred to Judea and Samaria as the “West Bank.”

Say what you will about Begin’s virtues, he didn’t really know what he was doing at Camp David. This pretty much sums up the story of his colleagues and successors to this day. Connect the dots: from Begin at Camp David to Bibi at the Begin-Sadat Center at Bar-Ilan University, where Netanyahu renounced the Jewish people’s biblical as well as legal claim to Judea and Samaria.   The State of Israel has been led by losers since the IDF’s miraculous victory in the June 1967 Six-Day War. It had to be miraculous, since it was achieved without the any thought or intention to incorporate Judea and Samaria into the State;! In fact, that bold but logical idea was opposed by Israel’s timid and myopic leaders. No wonder they ceded control of Israel’s holiest site, the Temple Mount, to the Arabs-who were stunned by this gesture of the conquerors.

The word “gesture” tells it all. Israel’s ruling elites think they can obtain peace through “gestures,” like yielding strategic assets for parchment-nay, for less than parchment, as witness the hero who retreated from Gaza for nothing. Let’s face it: Using a term coined by Lenin, we have to admit that for more than four decades this country has been ruled by “useful idiots,” whose mindless behavior was facilitated by Israel’s inane system of government-a system that allowed Ariel Sharon to nullify the 2003 Knesset elections and become Labor’s surrogate prime minister!

Let’s stop the pseudo-sophistication, the obscurantism: It’s not the Arabs but Jewish prime ministers that have laid the foundations for a Palestinian state.
And it makes no difference which party or party leader or party coalition heads Israel’s government: you get the same suicidal policy: retreat and surrender. Barack Obama could have drawn his anti-American foreign policy from Israel’s anti-Zionist foreign policy!
 
I am not a defeatist. For decades I have offered constructive alternatives to the self-destructive policies of this country. In fact, when I made aliyah in 1976- the year after the UN equated Zionism with “racism”-I brought with me the unheard idea of encouraging Israel to quit the United Nations, and I even gained support for the idea by a politically influential Israeli.

In any event, I have repeatedly proposed an offensive foreign policy, beginning with a serious expose of the repressive nature of Arab regimes. Alternatively, since Israel was not going to quit the UN, I suggested that Israel submit a proposal in the General Assembly to expel this or that Arab or Islamic regime on grounds of its violation of the UN Charter or the anti-Genocide Convention?  I have often advocated an “ideological offensive” against Israel’s enemies, for example, exposing the hatred of Israel propagated by Egypt’s state-controlled media, which violates the Israel-Egyptian peace treaty.  The Arabs have never ceased their ideological offensive against Israel, playing the “victimization card” or inciting the UN to pass anti-Israel resolutions. Meanwhile, Israel’s political leaders continue to play the role of blind-deaf-mutes.

But what am I saying? Jews must not irritate the “goyim,” certainly not the descendants of Ishmael. Jews much show how magnanimous they are, how peace-loving they are, how long-suffering they are, vis- Ã -vis their Arab assailants. Yes, Jews must suffer the cruel attacks, the murderous hatred, the obscene lies of the Arabs. The last thing they must do is tell the truth about these compulsive liars, which means they must imitate these Arabs with a good conscience!

Islam is not really a religion – it is a way of death

Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life.

Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of the other components.
 
Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges.
  
When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as well.
 
Here’s how it works:
 
As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:

United States — Muslim 0.6%
Australia — Muslim 1.5%
Canada — Muslim 1.9%
China — Muslim 1.8%
Italy — Muslim 1.5%
Norway — Muslim 1.8%

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs.  This is happening in:
 
 Denmark — Muslim 2%
 Germany — Muslim 3.7%
 United Kingdom — Muslim 2.7%
 Spain — Muslim 4%
 Thailand — Muslim 4.6%
 
 
From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for
Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:
 
 France — Muslim 8%
 Philippines — 5%
 Sweden — Muslim 5%
 Switzerland — Muslim 4.3%
 The Netherlands — Muslim 5.5%
 Trinidad & Tobago — Muslim 5.8%
 
At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris , we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam , with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections, in:
 
Guyana — Muslim 10%
India — Muslim 13.4%
Israel — Muslim 16%
Kenya — Muslim 10%
Russia — Muslim 15%
 
After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:
 
 Ethiopia — Muslim 32.8%
 
 At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:
 
 Bosnia — Muslim 40%
 Chad — Muslim 53.1%
 Lebanon — Muslim 59.7%
 
From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:

100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ — the Islamic House of Peace. Here there’s supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:

 Saudi Arabia — Muslim 100%
 Somalia — Muslim 100%
 Yemen — Muslim 100%
 
Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.

It is important to understand that in some countries, with well under 100% Muslim populations, such as France, the minority Muslim populations live in ghettos, within which they are 100% Muslim, and within which they live by Sharia Law. The national police do not even enter these ghettos. There are no national courts, nor schools, nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. The children attend madrasses. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death. Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, Muslim Imams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate.

Today’s 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the world’s population. But their birth rates dwarf the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the world’s population by the end of this century.

The following letter read on Glenn Beck’s show, is rapidly circulating around the country. Americans everywhere identify with this 53-year-old woman. She has given us a voice. Once you read this, you will want to forward it to all of your friends…
GLENN BECK: I got a letter from a woman in Arizona . She writes an open letter to our nation’s leadership:
“I am a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me.   Instead, we are burdened with Congressional Dukes and Duchesses who think they know better than the citizens they are supposed to represent.
There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you’re willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now.
You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would feel so horribly disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut-job am I? Well, these briefly are the views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I’m not a racist. This is not to be confused with legal immigration.
Two, the STIMULUS bill. I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you No, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.
Three: Czars. I want the circumvention of our constitutional checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution, and honor it.
Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There are many conflicting opinions and it is too soon for this radical legislation. Quit throwing our nation into politically-correct quicksand.
Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision that will burden me, my children, and grandchildren. Don’t you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night without even reading it. Slow down!  Fix only what is broken — we have the best health care system in the world — and test any new program in one or two states first.
Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. More is not better! Shrink it down. Mind your own business.  You have enough to take care of with your real [Constitutional] obligations. Why don’t you start there.
Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes — how did they pull that one off?  Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census with our taxpayer money. I don’t trust them with any of our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.
Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs — and that is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person! Why do you want me to hate my employers? And what do you have against shareholders making a profit?
Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.
Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Every company must sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we’ll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. (Have you ever ripped off a Band-Aid?) We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.
Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let’s have it. Let’s say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please stop trying to manipulate and appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.
Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.
Take a breath. Listen to the people. Slow down and get some input from non-politicians and experts on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed-reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I’m busy.  I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.
I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not.
It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot.. There is needless urgency and recklessness in all of your recent spending of our tax dollars.
From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on bringing our concerns to Washington . Our president often knows all the right buzzwords like unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don’t want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we’re morons.
We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented.. You think we’re so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work, pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone… and we are now looking at you.
You have awakened us, the patriotic freedom spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office.
We have canceled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn’t ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us who will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.
Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don’t care. Political parties are meaningless to us Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution, and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them.. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you.
If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.”

Where Do We Get These Men and Women?

This Veterans Day, I am reminded once again of the wonderful line at the end of the movie adaptation of James Michener’s The Bridges at Toko Ri.
 
A Navy Admiral is reflecting on the sacrifice of airmen given the mission of destroying a group of heavily defended bridges during the Korean War. The men were successful, but at the cost of their lives, leading the Admiral to famously ask: “Where do we get these men?”

Today, the question is “Where do we get these men and women?” and last week, the answer was Killeen, Texas.
Answer: Killeen, Texas
Killeen is the home of heroes this Veterans Day; men and women who prove that our servicemen and women don’t leave their bravery and selflessness behind on the battlefield.

Killeen was also the site of terrorism last week; proof that we are not immune from Islamic extremism inside our borders, even on our military bases. Killeen is the home of Sgt. Kimberly Munley, a Department of Defense civilian police officer and an Army veteran.

Sgt. Munley was nearby getting her car tuned-up when the 911 call came in. Without waiting for backup, she was the first law enforcement official to arrive on the scene at Fort Hood.
“She Fired Until He Dropped. The Killing Ended.”
Much has been written about Sgt. Munley’s heroism, but few have described her behavior in the heat of a confrontation with the Fort Hood shooter better than the editorial writers at the Las Vegas Review-Sun.

“Could Sgt. Munley, hit in the wrist and both thighs, really be blamed if she’d ducked for cover? She didn’t. From all reports, she stood her ground under fire, calmly reacquiring her sight picture, putting four rounds right where she wanted, in the advancing murderer’s center of mass. She fired until he dropped. The killing ended.”

Where did we get these men and women? From all across America and everywhere freedom and human dignity are valued.

For although the revolution in Eastern Europe occurred without a shot being fired, countless Americans – not to mention Britons, Germans, Poles, Czechs, Slovaks and Hungarians – sacrificed for that day.

Before there was a wall in Berlin, there was the Berlin blockade in 1948, when the Communist regime in Moscow tried to literally starve West Berlin to death. President Harry S. Truman ordered an airlift to feed West Berliners and resist Soviet aggression. Seventy-one American and British servicemen lost their lives.

And before there was a victory for freedom, 20 years ago this week, there were unflinching advocates for freedom in Eastern Europe like Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II.

These are the heroes we honor today.
Washington Seems More at Home with International Dictators Than America and Its Heroes
“Hero” is not a word we use a lot these days. We have a media dedicated to destroying, not showcasing, greatness. We have popular culture determined to celebrate victimhood rather than heroism. And we have a regime in Washington that seems more at home with international autocrats and dictators than America and its heroes.

But the inescapable fact of America is this: Ours is a country founded and defended, not by conciliation and sophisticated diplomatic gestures, but by honor, bravery and sacrifice.

Our heroes are not incidental to our nationhood but an essential part of it. Why? Because America is not, contrary to what our President believes, merely a nation among nations. We are, on our best days, closer to what Ronald Reagan believed: A shining city on a hill.
Take the Time Today to Thank a Veteran For His Service
The heroes of our city on a hill stretch back from Killeen, Texas, through a bloody 20th Century and a great Civil War, all the way to our founding.

They are the men who left a trail of blood in the snow of Northern Pennsylvania on Christmas night, 1776.

They are the men and women who serve today in Iraq and Afghanistan.

So make sure you take the time today to thank a veteran for his or her service. Take the time to remember and honor a hero.

Because in doing so you are answering the Navy Admiral’s question at Toko Ri.

Where do we get these men and women? From a nation that remains worthy of their sacrifice.

The threat of Islam

Connect the Dots: Fort Hood is Not an Isolated Event
Today is Veteran’s Day. Today we have an opportunity to show our appreciation to brave soldiers who are fighting the threat of radical Islam abroad.
Almost a week ago 13 individuals lost their lives in Fort Hood. They were being deployed to fight radicals on the battlefield in Afghanistan but ended up losing their lives to the same radical ideology on American soil.
For those of us who are not deployed on national service, we too must do our part to protect our freedoms here at home. We must understand that although the Fort Hood attack has been the most deadly of recent terrorist activity in the United States, it is not an isolated event. Over the past few months America has witnessed honor killings, foiled terrorist attacks and Jihad training. Each event is significant and we must connect the dots and realize the dangerous nature of the homegrown threat of radical Islam.
Today, let’s remember the importance of Veteran’s Day. Educate your colleagues and loved ones on the threats that radical Islam poses. Then, take a few minutes to thank veterans in your local communities for fighting to protect our rights and freedoms
