Happy New Year

VaYechi 12-5

And (he) lived

Genesis 49:19-26

By Ketriel Blad

The blessings of your father have excelled the blessings of my ancestors,
Up to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills. They shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers.  (Gen. 49:26 NKJV)

Why did Yosef receive the largest blessing?

Yosef received the longest blessing with 61 words in the Hebrew text. Yehuda’s blessing has 55 words. Also, among the blessings that Moshe pronounced over the twelve tribes, Yosef’s is the largest (Deut. 33)

Why did Yosef receive the largest blessing among his brothers? I want to point out two reasons:

First, because he suffered more than anyone of them

Second, because he had consecrated himself more than his brothers. The Hebrew word that has been translated as “separate” or “consecrate” is nazir – נזיר – whose root nazar – נזר means to set a distance, to abstain oneself. It is the same word used for the vow of the Nazirite in Numbers 6.

The one who suffers for justice and the one who separates from sin, impurity and the world will always receive the greatest blessing in this life and in the coming life.

May the Eternal give us strength to be joyful in suffering due to justice and truth knowing that they produce a good result with lots of blessings.

Climate Change? or temporary insanity…

The CARMEL ALERT  Dec 25th 2009
A compilation of news reports from the past week for the information of those committed to praying
for Israel  and the salvation of the Jewish  people

David’s Comment:  Turn Up The Global Warming  –  Its Freezing Outside !!!
Sorry about the sarcastic title for such a serious subject, but the Climate debate is becoming ridiculous.  The Copenhagen conference on “Climate Change” is now behind us and like many other similar attempts by our secular humanistic leaders to fix the world’s problems, this one also seems to be a load of hot air.  As we have seen in previous world conferences, it is very difficult for the leaders to overcome cultural differences and financial interests, to be able to come to a firm agreement.  At least they have began to use a more correct term for the issue. It began with the politicians and the news media constantly referring to “Global Warming”. however they are now more correctly calling it “Climate Change”

What bothers me is how blind or stupid the news media seems to be.  It is very obvious that they constantly turn a blind eye to the real facts behind the Israel / Arab conflict, and now it is becoming very obvious that they are doing the same with their new “Palestine” – the Global Warming issue.  Just as there is no such thing as a Palestinian people, and never has been,  there is no such thing as Global Warming.  Many places in the world are colder than they have been for decades.  It started snowing in Denver, Colorado, weeks earlier than normal.  New Zealand had its coldest winter for many years, and there are other places where the temperatures are lower, not higher.  And there are places that are warmer that they have been for several years, so we can clearly see that there is no Global Warming going on, but I concede that there is Climate Change – some places are colder and some places are warmer.  So 10 points and a Christmas present to whoever is responsible for the correct change of terminology.

The conference closed at the weekend with ‘Superstar / Messiah’  Barack Obama making his grand entry at the last minute, in the hope of being the catalyst to secure an international agreement, and securing an even greater  “Messiah” status in the eyes of a world desparate for saviour, but not a saviour who represents the true Creator of the Universe.  They prefer the kind of Messiah who like themselves opposes every good instruction that the Creator YHVH has given us to live by.  Thankfully Obama failed on both counts and slowly more and more people who voted him in, are beginning to realise that the US president. in not the great Messiah they hoped he would be

However it seems that most of the news media are still seriously blinded to the truth behind almost everything that is going on in the world today.  I find it absolutely ludicrous that while this Climate conference was taking place, and many Europe and parts of the USA were experiencing their coldest December for more than 50 years.  The snow storm in Washington DC was so severe as Air Force One landed with Obama on board, that the huge blue and white Boeing 747 was almost invisible.  As the ‘greenies’, the policitians and the media were getting out of shape over the claims that our vehicles, industry, and even too many cows were causing the temperatures to rise, placing the future of life on Earth in doubt, millions of people were freezing, and tens of thousands of other people in the UK, Europe and the northern east coast of the USA were left stranded as road, rail and air transport was closed down by the coldest December weather in 50 years and more.

Come on now, who are you trying to kid ?  If this is Global Warming we need much more of it !!!
For all of you who are preparing to celebrate the birth of Yeshua, Josie, Jordan, Stefan & Keren and I pray that you will all have an abundantly blessed Christmas with family and friends, and that the Holy One of Israel will prosper you in every way in 2010.

The Lord bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel.  Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God.  Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for that breakthrough to the Muslims,  and please remember to pray for all of the soldiers in the IDF -they are defending and fighting for the Kingdom of God.

Shabbat Shalom …. David & Josie

1. Obama: Israel Will Eventually Attack Iran    Israel Today News   Dec 18th
US President Barack Obama warned Chinese Prime Minister Hu Jintao in Beijing last month that Washington can only prevent Israel from attacking Iran for so long, senior Israeli diplomats revealed to Ha’aretz on Thursday.   Obama was in China to convince Hu to stop opposing international efforts to sanction Iran over its defiant nuclear program. Obama warned that eventually Israel will feel the threat to its existence is too great and will attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, and there will be nothing the US can do to stop it.   Washington believed the visit to be a success when China backed international condemnation of Iran a week after Obama returned to the US. But in the past two weeks, China has returned to its previous policies by opposing international efforts to impose new sanctions on the Islamic Republic.  Both Obama and Israel also hoped to decrease China’s dependency on Iranian oil, which provides a very steady income for Tehran.   Meanwhile, the Israeli and American intelligence communities are leading a global effort to uncover and shut down clandestine Iranian purchasing networks that are busy buying up the materials needed for Iran’s nuclear program.  One such network was exposed recently in Taiwan.
Please pray that the Israeli government will make God led decisions concerning Iran

2. Israel: This Is Our Last Gesture to Palestinians   Israel Today News  Dec 20th
Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Thursday said Israel is getting fed up with making peace gestures to the Palestinians, only to be slapped in the face, and that the current 10-month settlement freeze will be the last gesture offered by Israel.  “Now the time for Israeli gestures has ended. The Palestinians can decide whether they want to come to the negotiations table or not,” Lieberman told students at Ariel University Center. “The ball is in the Palestinian court.”   Lieberman reminded those listening that the temporary settlement freeze is not the first gesture implemented since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took office in March. Netanyahu also complied with Palestinian demands that he accept the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state as the outcome of peace talks, and has removed numerous military checkpoints in the so-called “West Bank.”
But instead of responding in kind, or at least returning to the negotiating table, the Palestinians have rejected each Israeli gesture and “moderate” Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has repeatedly threatened to step down over what he calls phony Israeli offers.  “We cannot tolerate a situation in which (Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas) keeps threatening to resign and shouting ‘support me,'” said Lieberman.   If the Palestinians do not take the current gesture seriously, Lieberman said it will be Israel’s last and it will be fully reversed. “Let be clear – in 10 months construction in the Judea and Samaria will resume in an open and transparent manner.”
Please pray that the whole peace process comes to a grinding halt and that Israel will hold on to every inch of God-given land

Deal for Gilad Shalit at Least 10 Days Off   Israel Today News   December 23rd
3.     This is not the first time media reports have suggested an imminent prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas that would see abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit finally freed from Gaza. And if reports this week are accurate, that deal won’t be hammered out for at least another 10 days, if ever.  Few details of the deal being discussed are known, except that Israel is ready to free about 1,000 jailed Palestinian terrorists in exchange for Shalit. The deal is reportedly being held up by Israel’s insistence that the more notorious of those criminals be exiled from the region. Israel is also refusing to release about seven of the terrorists demanded by Hamas due to the severity of their crimes.  Hamas on Wednesday rejected Israel’s latest positions, but said it would continue negotiations in order to sway Israel and get its way.
Israeli organizations that represent the victims of Palestinian terror note that terrorists released in previous prisoner exchanges went on to kill 200 Israelis, and that Israel should not make the same mistake in its quest to win Shalit’s freedom.  Palestinian media outlets have also acknowledged that Israel’s willingness to release hard-core terrorists for captured or even dead Israeli soldiers is incentive to continue the kidnappings.   Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he is painfully aware of the dilemma.  “I face two vital principles – the desire to free hostages and the desire to protect Israeli citizens from an attack in the future,” Ha’aretz quoted Netanyahu as telling concerned families of terror victims on Tuesday.
Please pray that the Israeli government will Not go ahead with the prisoner exchange,  but that Gilad will escape or be rescued

4. Palestinian  Gunmen Kill Israeli Motorist     Israel Today News  Dec 24th
Palestinian terrorist gunmen shot and killed an Israeli motorist traveling in northern Samaria on Thursday. The attack occurred between the Jewish communities of Shavei Shomron and Einav.   The assailants managed to flee the scene, and a manhunt was launched to bring them to justice.  The last fatal terrorist shooting in Judea and Samaria occurred in March 2009.  In other terror-related news, security forces on Thursday revealed that a major traffic disruption last week on the highway that runs from northern Jerusalem to Tel Aviv had been caused by a roadside bomb.  The bomb had several firecrackers attached to it, which were supposed to set off the high-grade explosives. But only the firecrackers went off, possibly saving many lives. Israeli security forces destroyed the rest of the bomb in a controlled explosion.
Please pray that all acts of terror ill be exposed and thwarted before they happen

5.  Israel: US Coonsulate Car Tried to Run Over Checkpoint Guard    Jerusalem Post  Dec 25th
A  dispute is rumbling between Israel and the US Consulate in Jerusalem after a US diplomatic car allegedly tried running over a Defense Ministry security guard recently at an IDF checkpoint in the West Bank. The car had been stopped after the occupants refused to present identification papers.   Israel is also furious that one of the consulate cars was found to have transported a Palestinian without permits between Jerusalem and the West Bank.   The identification of American diplomats from the consulate at IDF checkpoints has been a major sticking point for several years. In January 2008, the Civil Administration of Judea and Samaria filed complaints with the Foreign Ministry after both US Security Coordinator Lt.-Gen. Keith Dayton and then-consul-general Jacob Walles refused to roll down their windows or open their car doors and show identification papers at a checkpoint.  However, Israel’s ire reached a new level after an incident on November 13 in which a five-car convoy of consulate vehicles with diplomatic plates arrived at the Gilboa crossing.
According to a detailed official Israel Police description of the incident obtained exclusively by The Jerusalem Post, the drivers refused to identify themselves or open a window or door. The drivers, according to the report, purposely blocked the crossing, tried running over one of the Israeli security guards stationed there and made indecent gestures at female guards. The entire incident was documented by cameras at the crossing.  Following the incident, the head of the police’s Security Department, Lt.-Cmdr. Meir Ben-Yishai, convened a meeting on November 18 at police headquarters in Jerusalem with the regional security officer at the consulate, Tim Laas. Also present were officials from the Defense Ministry and the Foreign Ministry, and the regional security officer at the US Embassy in Tel Aviv, Dan Power.    Ben-Yishai described additional violations by consulate workers, and referred to at least one case in which a female Palestinian without appropriate documentation was found in a diplomatic car. Defense officials told the Post that there had been other similar cases in the past. omeone,” Ben-Yishai said, according to the official police protocol. Ben-Yishai also said the drivers of the cars, from east Jerusalem, hid their Israeli identity cards and put stickers over their names on their consulate-issued identity cards, since, as they claimed, “they are in a diplomatic vehicle and cannot be touched.”

 6. Was Jimmy Carter’s Apology to Jews Genuine?   Israel Today News  Dec 23rd
Former US President Jimmy Carter surprised many earlier this week when, after decades of antagonizing Israel, he published a letter of apology to Jews around the world for “stigmatizing” the Jewish state.  Carter’s outbursts and accusations against Israel and his acceptance of Hamas and other terror groups are well known. His 2006 book “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid,” which laid the bulk of the blame for the lack of peace on Israel, was seen as the last nail in the coffin of a relationship that ostensibly began positively at Camp David in 1978.   So, Carter’s letter of apology struck many as odd, and on Tuesday it was revealed there may indeed have been ulterior motives.  Just one day after Carter’s letter was published, his grandson, Jason Carter, announced that he is planning a run for the Georgia state senate, with aspirations of a much grander political career. Having his grandfather tainted as a “Jew hater” would have greatly hindered that career.  Both Carter and his grandson denied that the apology had nothing to do with Jason’s upcoming electoral campaign, but the timing and the absolute reversal of the former president’s earlier sentiments have raised many questions.

7. Palestinians Ban British Choir for Performing with Israeli Orchestra   Israel today News  Dec 23rd
The Palestinian Authority this week informed the Clare College Choir from Cambridge, England that its performances in eastern Jerusalem and Bethlehem had been cancelled after it dared to perform last week with the Israeli Camerta Orchestra.  The ban came after the London-based Palestinian Solidarity Campaign circulated a petition against the choir over its “indifference to Palestinian suffering,” evidenced by its willingness to perform with and for Israelis.  According to the boycott group, the Clare College Choir’s appearance in Israel had helped to promote it “as a normal state,” which the Palestinians and broader Arab world find unacceptable.  The choir’s director, himself a professed supporter of the “Palestinian cause,” said he was taken aback by the ban.

December 23, 2009
Dear Bob:

Yesterday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell caved in on health care, rushing the bill through to an earlier vote so he and his buddies can make their vacations on time.

Merry Christmas, from the spineless Republican leadership.

The vote on final Senate passage will now come at 8 AM tomorrow, Christmas Eve.

The fight is not yet over, but time is now VERY short, so I need you to call your senators RIGHT NOW.

Senator Richard Burr can be reached at 202-224-3154.
Senator Kay Hagan can be reached at 202-224-6342.

Some senators, particularly vulnerable Democrats, are still not set in stone, despite what Harry Reid wants you to believe.

They can still be moved by heat from back home, especially if they think their seat hangs in the balance.

So please, call your senators now and tell them to oppose this government health care scheme.  Let them know that your vote -– and their seat -– is at stake.

But as bad as this health care monstrosity is, it’s not the only battle we face this Christmas Eve.

The statists are also greedily stuffing their stockings with an increase in the Debt Ceiling.

The $290 billion increase will pump our national debt limit to $12.39 TRILLION, allowing the Fed to print dollars and float the statists’ big spending agenda . . .

. . . until just mid-February.  That’s as long as $290 billion lasts in Washington these days –- a month and a half.

And unless we put a stop to it now, in a few months they’ll just come right back to loot us for hundreds of billions more.

That’s why I also need you to tell your senators to vote against the increase in our National Debt Ceiling.

Senator Richard Burr can be reached at 202-224-3154.
Senator Kay Hagan can be reached at 202-224-6342.

I know this is a busy time of year, but if you can just find a minute to call now, your voice — combined with countless other R3volutionaries — could still make the difference.

So please, call your senators right now and DEMAND they oppose Harry Reid’s health care bill and any increase in the Debt Ceiling.

In Liberty,

John Tate

P.S. Mitch McConnell has caved in and is now working with Harry Reid to rush the health care bill through early. The vote will now come in the morning on Christmas Eve.

Please call Senator Richard Burr at 202-224-3154 and Senator Kay Hagan at 202-224-6342 and DEMAND they oppose Harry Reid’s government healthcare scheme.

Shabbat Shalom

Haftarah: (1 Kings 3:15 – 4:1)
Special Chanukah reading for this year: Numbers 7:1-17; 7:30-35; Zechariah 2:14 – 4:7
The Apostolic Scriptures: Mark 13:1 – 14:31
Readings in the AS:
Means “the end”, “at the end”.
          The First Aliyah, 41:1-14
41:1a “It happened at the end of two full years…”(HNV) – Yosef had to spend a total of twelve years in prison. This represents the Messiah ben Yosef, who had to suffer for the twelve tribes of Israel.
The two years also refer to the resurrection of the Messiah, which happened after two days, as it is written in Hosea 6:2,
“After two days will he revive us. On the third day he will raise us up, and we will live before him.”(HNV)
The two days also speak of the restoration not only of the state of Israel after almost two thousand years, but also of the ten lost tribes of the house of Yosef. Just as Yosef came out of prison at the end of two years, so his descendants will come out of the nations at the end of two thousand years, in order to return to their place within Israel.
The Hebrew word that has been translated “at the end” is “mi-ketz”,[1] which means “at last”, “at the end”, “by the end”. This teaches us that Paroh’s dreams not only speak of what happened at the end of Yosef’s last two years of imprisonment, but also of that which will happen at the end of the two thousand year Messianic era.
The death of the chief baker and the exalting of the chief cupbearer, which happened before the two years, speak of the Messiah’s death and resurrection before the two thousand years. Just as the chief cupbearer forgot about Yosef for two years, so Yeshua has been ignored by the majority of both the Jewish people and the population of the world for two thousand years.
At the end of the two years, Yosef was exalted as co-ruler over the whole land, as second in command after Paroh. That teaches us that Yeshua ben Yosef will be the ruler over all the nations of the world at the end of the two thousand years, counting from his death and resurrection.
The word “awoke”, in Hebrew “yakatz”,[2] which is found three times in this text, in verses 4, 7 and 21, is similar to the word “ketz”, “end”, found in verse 1. It also speaks of the fact that Paroh’s dreams contain a message for the last days. The dreams are repeated twice in the story. That also hints to us that they are not only speaking of something that will happen during the time of Yosef, but also at the end of this age in connection with the coming and rule of Messiah ben Yosef.
41:14 “Then Par`oh sent and called Yosef, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon. He shaved himself, changed his clothing, and came in to Par`oh.”(HNV) – The Hebrew word that has been translated “dungeon” is “bor”, which means, “hole” or “well”. The English word “to bore (a hole)” comes from this ancient Hebrew word. It speaks of, as mentioned, the Messiah’s death both for the people of Israel and the gentile world.
“brought him out” – this speaks of the resurrection. The Messiah did not come out of death by his own power. He was raised up by the Father, as it is written in Acts 2:24,
“whom Elohim raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.”(HNV revised)
In Acts 2:32, it is written,
“This Yeshua whom Elohim raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.”(HNV revised)
In Romans 10:9, it is written,
“that if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Yeshua, and believe in your heart that Elohim raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”(HNV revised)
It is written that Elohim raised him from the dead. Yeshua did not raise himself up. He did not have the power to do that. It was the Father who resurrected him from the dead.
“hastily” – The resurrection happened very quickly, according to Zechariah 3:2b, where it is written,
“Isn’t this a burning stick plucked out of the fire?”(HNV)
“he shaved himself” – This is a picture of the “yetzer harah”, the evil urge that was removed through the resurrection of the Messiah. Sin entered the world through a physical act, when the first man ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The seed of evil entered the human body through the mouth. This is why the human body is the seat for sin. Even though sin has affected both the soul and the spirit of man, the body is the place where it dwells, as it is written in Romans 7:17-23,
“So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good. For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice. But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. I find then the law, that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present. For I delight in Elohim’s law after the inward man, but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.”(HNV revised)
In Romans 6:6, it is written,
“knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.”(HNV)
Yeshua took our sins, not in his soul or his spirit, but in his body, as it is written in 1 Peter 2:24,
“who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.”(HNV)
Sin was, therefore, transferred to the most external part of the Messiah Yeshua’s being before he died. There are several examples in the Scriptures that mention shaving the hair for cleansing. They are pointing to the Messiah being cleansed of our sins, which were in his body.
In Leviticus 14:8, it is written,
“He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean. After that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days.”(HNV)
In Numbers 8:7, it is written,
“Thus shall you do to them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of cleansing on them, let them shave their whole bodies with a razor, and let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.”(HNV)
“changed his clothing” – This is referring to the moment when the old man, which is symbolized by the old dirty clothing, is removed, and the new man is created through the Messiah’s death and resurrection, as it is written in Zechariah 3:3-4,
“Now Yehoshua[3] was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the angel. He answered and spoke to those who stood before him, saying, ‘Take the filthy garments off of him.’ To him he said, ‘Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with rich clothing.’”(HNV)
In Luke 15:22, it is written,
“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe, and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet.’”(HNV)
In 1 Corinthians 15:42-54, it is written,
“So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption (the old clothing); it is raised in incorruption (the new clothing). It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is also a spiritual body. So also it is written, ‘The first man, Adam, became a living soul.’ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However that which is spiritual isn’t first, but that which is natural, then that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, made of dust. The second man is from heaven. As is the one made of dust, such are those who are also made of dust; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. As we have borne the image of those made of dust, let’s also bear the image of the heavenly. Now I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood can’t inherit the Kingdom of Elohim; neither does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.’”(HNV revised)
In 2 Corinthians 5:2-3, it is written,
“For most assuredly in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven; if so be that being clothed we will not be found naked.”(HNV)
In Philippians 3:20-21, it is written,
“For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Yeshua the Messiah; who will change the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is able even to subject all things to himself.”(HNV)
In Romans 6:5-6, it is written,
“For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.”(HNV)
“came in to Paroh” – In the same way the Messiah, after having been raised from the dead, was elevated to the highest position and presented before the heavenly Father in order to serve him as High Priest according to the order of Malki-Tzedek, as it is written in Psalm 110:1 and 4,
“A Psalm of David. HaShem says to my Lord, ‘Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet.’… HaShem has sworn, and will not change his mind: ‘You are a priest forever in the order of Malki-Tzedek.’”(HNV revised)
In 1 Peter 3:22, it is written,
“who is at the right hand of Elohim, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.”(HNV revised)
In Philippians 2:9, it is written,
“Therefore Elohim also highly exalted him, and gave to him the Name which is above every name.”(HNV revised)
          The Second Aliyah, 41:15-38
41:25 “Yosef said to Par`oh, ‘The dream of Par`oh is one. Elohim has declared to Par`oh what he is about to do.’”(HNV revised) – During his lifetime.
41:28 “That is the thing which I spoke to Par`oh. What Elohim is about to do he has shown to Par`oh.”(HNV revised) – In the end times.
41:29-30 “Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt. There will arise after them seven years of famine, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt. The famine will consume the land”(HNV) – The two last years of Yosef’s time in prison are counted from the time that Paroh’s one servant died and the other was restored. In the same way, the last two thousand years of the present age are counted from the Messiah’s death and resurrection. At the end of these two thousand years, it is probable that there will be seven years of financial plenty, possibly in the whole world. After that will come seven years of great need, “the Great Tribulation”. The last seven years correspond with the last of the seventy-year weeks that the prophet Daniel speaks about in 9:24-27. During that time, there will be great persecution of those who keep Elohim’s commands and have the testimony of Yeshua, as it is written in Revelation 12:17,
“The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep Elohim’s commands and hold Yeshua’s testimony.”(HNV revised)
During this time there will be a great hunger for the Eternal’s word in the land of Israel, as it is written in Amos 8:11-14,
“’Behold, the days come,’ says the Lord HaShem, ‘That I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of HaShem. They will wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east; they will run back and forth to seek the word of HaShem, and will not find it. In that day the beautiful virgins and the young men will faint for thirst. Those who swear by the sin of Shomron, and say, ‘As your god, Dan, lives;’ and, ‘As the way of Be’er-Sheva lives;’ they will fall, and never rise up again.’”(HNV revised)
Here we see that the idolaters will not be able to find the Eternal’s Word. That is because they do not seek in the right place, in Yerushalayim, but in the false religions of this world. But there will be multitudes of people who will know where they can find the Eternal’s Word during the last days, as it is written in Zechariah 8:20-23,
“Thus says HaShem of Hosts: ‘Many peoples, and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come; and the inhabitants of one shall go to another, saying, “Let us go speedily to entreat the favor of HaShem, and to seek HaShem of Hosts. I will go also.” Yes, many peoples and strong nations will come to seek HaShem of Hosts in Yerushalayim, and to entreat the favor of HaShem.’ Thus says HaShem of Hosts: ‘In those days, ten men will take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, they will take hold of the hem of the mantel of him who is a Jew, saying, “We will go with you, for we have heard that Elohim is with you.”’”(HNV revised)
There are some very interesting things here. We can see how many people and powerful gentile nations will come and seek the Eternal in Yerushalayim “in those days”. The expression “in those days” is referring to the end times. Later it speaks of ten men of different languages and nations who will take hold of the hem of the mantel of a Jew and ask for spiritual guidance. The ten men symbolize the ten lost tribes who exist among the gentile nations and who will rise up during this time. They will come to the Jews who walk with the Eternal, i.e. those Jews who follow Yeshua, who is the way. The ten tribes of the house of Yosef will be united with the house of Yehudah to be instructed in Moshe’s Torah as it was explained by the great Rebbe Yeshua the Messiah and his messengers, as it is written in Ezekiel 37:19,
“tell them, Thus says the Lord HaShem: Behold, I will take the stick of Yosef, which is in the hand of Efrayim, and the tribes of Yisra’el his companions; and I will put them with it, even with the stick of Yehudah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in my hand.”(HNV revised)
And in Matthew 28:18-20, where it is written,
“Yeshua came to them and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Therefore go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in my name teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amein.”(HNV revised)
And in Acts 24:14, it is written,
“But this I confess to you, that after the way, which they call a sect, so I serve the Elohim of our fathers, believing all things which are according to the law, and which are written in the prophets”(HNV revised)
There will come a time when the two houses of Israel will be reunited.
The Hebrew word that is translated as “hem of the mantel” in Zechariah is very interesting. It is the word “kanaf”,[4] which means “wing”, “edge”, “hem”, “corner”. It is the same word that is used in the text where the children of Israel receive the commandment to use tassels in the “corners” of their square piece of clothing.
As it is written in Numbers 15:37-41,
“HaShem spoke to Moshe, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Yisra’el, and bid those who they make them tassels (tzitziot) in the borders (knafei) of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put on the tassels (tzitziot) of each border (kanaf) a cord of blue: and it shall be to you for you a tassel (tzitzit), that you may look on it, and remember all the commands of HaShem, and do them; and that you not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you use to play the prostitute; that you may remember and do all my commands, and be consecrated to your Elohim. I am HaShem your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim: I am HaShem your Elohim.’”(HNV revised)
In the four corners of the garment of a Torah-practicing Jew hang tassels, in Hebrew “tzitziot”, which serve as a reminder to fulfill all the commandments of the Eternal. These tassels represent obedience to all the 613 commandments, which the Eternal gave to Israel through Moshe and the Messiah. Here we see, therefore, how the ten tribes, who were assimilated among the nations, come home. They are willing to submit to the practical instruction given by a Jew who walks with the Eternal and obeys the commandments, which the Eternal gave through Moshe to the twelve tribes of Israel.
In the same way that Yosef’s eleven brothers came to Egypt during the seven years of famine, Israel’s twelve tribes will be reunited during the Great Tribulation. In the first eight verses of Revelation chapter seven, it speaks of the twelve restored tribes of Israel. These Israelites will go through the seven years of great suffering, and will win the victory.
From verse 9 and on, Yochanan gets to see with his own eyes the great multitude that no one can number, from all nations, tribes, peoples and languages. Verse 14 says that this multitude consists of former gentiles who have come out of the great suffering, the Great Tribulation. This teaches us that the harvesting of the majority of the population of the world for the Kingdom of Elohim will take place during the last years before the Messiah returns.
41:38 “Par`oh said to his servants, ‘Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of Elohim?’”(HNV revised) – Elohim’s Spirit is in the Anointed ben Yosef more than in any other man. He has the fullness of the Eternal’s Spirit, as it is written in Isaiah 11:1-2,
“There shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Yishai, and a branch out of his roots shall bear fruit. The Spirit of HaShem shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of HaShem.”(HNV revised)
In Isaiah 62:1-2, it is written,
“The Spirit of the Lord HaShem is on me; because HaShem has anointed me to preach good news to the humble; he has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of HaShem’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our Elohim; to comfort all who mourn”(HNV revised)
In Matthew 3:16, it is written,
“Yeshua, when he was baptized, went up directly from the water: and behold, the heavens were opened to him. He saw the Spirit of Elohim descending as a dove, and coming on him.”(HNV revised)
In Luke 4:16-21, it is written,
“He came to Natzeret, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the day of Shabbat, and stood up to read. The book of the prophet Yesha`yahu was handed to him. He opened the book, and found the place where it was written, ‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.’ He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began to tell them, ‘Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.’”(HNV)
In John 3:34, it is written,
“For he whom Elohim has sent speaks the words of Elohim; for Elohim gives the Spirit without measure.”(HNV revised)
The word “Messiah”, means, “anointed with oil” and it speaks of the Spirit of the Eternal coming on a man so that he can fulfill a specific assignment.
          The Third Aliyah, 41:39-52
41:40 “You shall be over my house, and according to your word will all my people be ruled. Only in the throne I will be greater than you.”(HNV) – This clearly illustrates the relationship between the Son and the heavenly Father. The Father has given the Son power to rule over his house. But it is a delegated power, not one that replaces the Father. The Father remains greater, as it is written in John 14:28b,
“for the Father is greater than I.”(HNV)
In 1 Corinthians 15:27-28, it is written,
“For, ‘He put all things in subjection under his feet.’ But when he says, ‘All things are put in subjection,’ it is evident that he is excepted who subjected all things to him. When all things have been subjected to him, then the Son will also himself be subjected to him who subjected all things to him, that Elohim may be all in all.”(HNV revised)
“and according to your word will all my people be ruled” – Anyone who does not obey the Mashiach Yeshua does not care about the Father either, as it is written in John 3:35-36,
“The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand. One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains on him.”(HNV revised)
41:41 “Par`oh said to Yosef, ‘Behold, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.’”(HNV) – Since Egypt represents the world, we can see here that the Messiah will reign over the whole world, as it is written in Hebrews 2:8,
“’You have put all things in subjection under his feet.’ For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don’t see all things subjected to him, yet.”(HNV)
It is not only the physical world that is submitted to the Messiah, but the invisible world as well, as it is written in Matthew 28:18,
“Yeshua came to them and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.’”(HNV revised)
In 1 Peter 3:22, it is written,
“who is at the right hand of Elohim, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.”(HNV revised)
In Ephesians 1:20-23, it is written,
“which he worked in Messiah, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.”(HNV)
41:42 “Par`oh took off his signet ring from his hand, and put it on Yosef’s hand, and arrayed him in robes of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck”(HNV) – Having the ring meant having the authority to act in the king’s name. Yosef could now stamp documents, using Paroh’s name. Here he received the name that was above every other name in that world. The same thing happened with Yeshua, who was given the Name that is above every other name. Yosef was not called Paroh, but he could act in Paroh’s name and stamp documents in that name. In the same way, Yeshua does not have YHWH’s Name as his own, but has received it from the Father to reign in that Name, as it is written in Philippians 2:9,
“Therefore Elohim also highly exalted him, and gave to him the Name which is above every name”(HNV revised)
The Greek word that is translated “gave” is “charidsomai”[5], which comes from “charis”,[6] which means, “grace”, “at no cost”. This teaches us that Yeshua received the Name because he was given grace, as a gift. It also means that he did not have that Name in and of himself, but that it is the Father’s Name that was delegated to the Son.
“fine linen” – Linen was used in the tabernacle and temple ministry before the Eternal. All the priests of the Eternal wore linen.
Angels are clothed in linen, compare with Ezekiel 9:2, 11; Daniel 10:5; Revelation 15:6.
The High Priest had to wear linen clothes that were made especially for Yom Kippur, the great Day of Atonement (compare with Leviticus 16). When Yeshua was buried, he was wrapped in a linen cloth (compare with Matthew 27:59). The linen represents the resurrection of the Messiah, according to John 20:5-7. When he was raised from the dead, he was clothed with a new body and he also received a linen mantel that reaches down to his feet, as it is written in Revelation 1:13,
“And among the lamp stands was one like a son of man, clothed with a robe reaching down to his feet, and with a golden sash around his chest.”(HNV revised)
The Messiah’s bride will be clothed in fine linen. It represents her righteous deeds in obedience to the commandments, as it is written in Revelation 19:8,
“It was given to her that she would array herself in bright, pure, fine linen: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the consecrated ones.”(HNV revised)
41:43 “and he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had. They cried before him, ‘Avrech!’ He set him over all the land of Egypt.”(HNV revised) – According to Rashi, the word “avrech” comes from two words, “av”, “father” and “rech”, “king”. Even though the word “av” means “father”, it can in some cases also mean “counselor” or “best friend”. In 45:8, Yosef says of himself that Elohim has made him to be “av”, “father”, to Paroh.
According to Rabbi Yossi ben Durmaskit, who is quoted by Rashi, “avrech” has to do with “birkayim”, “knees”. Therefore, the word should be understood as a command to kneel.
When people acknowledged Yosef’s new position, and kneeled before him, they were actually acknowledging the power of the one who had given him that position, the king of Egypt. It was Paroh who commanded the people to kneel before Yosef. In the same way, the Father has commanded the world to bow before Yeshua. By doing this, they acknowledge His delegated power. But if they worship the Son as if he was the Father, there is confusion. The Son is not the Father and the Father is not the Son.
In Revelation 5:8a, it is written,
“Now when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb”(HNV)
In Isaiah 45:23, it is written,
“By myself have I sworn, the word is gone forth from my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to me (the Father) every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.”(HNV)
In Romans 14:11, it is written,
“For it is written, ‘As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘to me every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess to Elohim.’”(HNV revised)
In Philippians 2:10-11, it is written,
“that at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Yeshua the Messiah is Lord, to the glory of Elohim the Father.”(HNV revised)
Anyone who did not bow before Yosef was not in submission to Paroh who had commanded it. It is the same way with anyone who will not bow before Yeshua and acknowledge him as Lord; that person is not obedient to the Father who commanded it, as it is written in John 5:23,
“that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent him.”(HNV)
The idea that a Jew can honor the Father without acknowledging Yeshua as being appointed by Him as ruler over heaven and earth, is a lie.
In 1 John 5:9-12, it is written,
“If we receive the witness of men, the witness of Elohim is greater; for this is Elohim’s testimony which he has testified concerning his Son. He who believes in the Son of Elohim has the testimony in himself. He who doesn’t believe Elohim has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that Elohim has given concerning his Son. The testimony is this, that Elohim gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have Elohim’s Son doesn’t have the life.”(HNV revised)
41:45 “Par`oh called Yosef’s name Tzafnat-Paneach; and he gave him Osnat, the daughter of Poti-Phera Priest of On as a wife. Yosef went out over the land of Egypt.”(HNV revised) – When Yosef was recognized as lord in the gentile world, his Hebrew name was changed to a gentile name. In the same way, the gentile world has changed Yeshua HaMashiach’s name and given him a Greek name, “Jesus Christ”.
According to Rashi and Flavius Josefus, the name Tzafnat-Paneach means, “he who reveals secrets”. “Tzafnat” could come from the root “tzafan”, which means, “hide”, “keep secret”.[7] The Septuagint and the Coptic version translate the name as “savior of the world”.
According to Rashi, Poti-Phera was the same person as Potifar. The Hebrew word that is translated as “priest”, “kohen”, can also mean “chief”, which is the case when it is referring to David’s sons, compare with 2 Samuel 8:18; 1 Chronicles 18:17.
41:46a “Yosef was thirty years old when he stood before Par`oh king of Egypt.”(HNV) – In the same way, Yosef’s son was thirty years old when he began his public ministry, according to Luke 3:23a, where it is written,
“Yeshua himself, when he began to teach, was about thirty years old”(HNV)
41:49 “Yosef laid up grain as the sand of the sea, very much, until he stopped counting, for it was without number.”(HNV) – This symbolizes the great harvest of souls that the Messiah will gather in the gentile world, as it is written in Revelation 7:9-10:
“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. They cried with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation be to our Elohim, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’”(HNV revised)
In Revelation 14:14-16 it is written,
“I looked, and behold, a white cloud; and on the cloud one sitting like a son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. Another angel came out from the temple, crying with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, ‘Send forth your sickle, and reap; for the hour to reap has come; for the harvest of the earth is ripe!’ He who sat on the cloud thrust his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.”(HNV)
“the sand of the sea” – This refers to Ya’akov’s descendants, compare with 32:12, who were mixed in among all the gentile nations. In the end times, Yosef’s Son will harvest them and gather them into Messianic congregations in practically all the gentile cities of the world.
          The Fourth Aliyah, 41:53 – 42:18
41:51-52 “Yosef called the name of the firstborn Menasheh, ‘For, he said, ‘Elohim has made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house.’ The name of the second, he called Efrayim: ‘For Elohim has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.’ The seven years of plenty, that was in the land of Egypt, came to an end.”(HNV revised) – Yosef’s two sons, who would later be adopted as Israel’s sons, were born of a non-Israelite woman. They grew up in pagan surroundings, but they had a Hebraic upbringing. In the same way, Yosef’s Son has children who were born in the gentile world, and who, in the last days, will be recognized as a part of Israel.
The name Menasheh[8] comes from the root “nashah”[9], which means “forget”. Efrayim[10] is the masculine dual form of the word “efrat”[11], which means, “pile of ashes” and “fruitfulness”.
Yosef’s children represent those gentiles who have had a genuine experience of the new birth through Yeshua ben Yosef. The first son, Menasheh, has to do with forgetting two things: his toil and Israel’s house. The second son, Efrayim, has to do with growth.
Their names are exact representations of what has happened in Christian history. Among the Christians, there is a majority of gentiles who are born by the Spirit of the Messiah. First they forgot the Roman persecution that they suffered because of their Jewish faith, and then they forgot Israel and the Torah. Efrayim represents the recent evangelical revivals that preach the salvation message through the Messiah Yeshua’s death and resurrection even though they call him by a Greek name. In the end Efrayim will be placed above Menasheh, and both will be vital ingredients in the Eternal’s restoration plan for the people of Israel (compare with Genesis 48).
41:55b “Go to Yosef. What he says to you, do.”(HNV) – Here we can see that the king sends the people to the one that he has delegated his power to. In the same way, the Father leads people to Yeshua, as it is written in John 6:44-45,
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘They will all be taught by Elohim.’ Therefore everyone who hears from the Father, and has learned, comes to me.”(HNV revised)
In Matthew 11:27, it is written,
“All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.”(HNV)
In Matthew 16:17, it is written,
“Yeshua answered him, ‘Blessed are you, Shim`on Bar-Yonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.’”(HNV)
In the same way that Paroh commanded the people to obey Yosef, the Father commanded in an audible voice that Yeshua is to be obeyed, as it is written in Matthew 17:5,
“While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, ‘This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.’”(HNV)
We could ask ourselves: Is it possible to go directly to the Father, without going through Yeshua? This text shows us that where there is delegated authority, we cannot go around it. In the same way the Father delegated everything to his Son, and we cannot go around him to get to the Father, as it is written in John 14:6,
“Yeshua said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’”(HNV)
That message was not given to a crowd of gentiles, but of Jews. No Jew can come to the Father except through the Messiah whose name is Yeshua.
It is written in John 17:2,
“even as you gave him authority over all flesh, he will give eternal life to all whom you have given him.”(HNV)
In this situation, the people needed bread. Paroh told them, “Go to Yosef. What he says to you, do.” In John 2:5 the people needed wine. Yeshua’s mother told the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.” Here we have the two most important ingredients of the Jewish feasts, bread and wine. On the Shabbat, however, the wine is taken first and then the bread (compare with Genesis 14:18). This turns our thoughts to the Lord’s table where the bread is served first, in memory of his body, and then the wine, in memory of his blood, according to what is written in 1 Corinthians 11:23-26,
“For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Yeshua on the night in which he was betrayed took bread. When he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, ‘Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me.’ In the same way he also took the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”(HNV)
41:57 “All countries came into Egypt, to Yosef, to buy grain, because the famine was severe in all the earth.”(HNV) – In the same way, gentiles from all nations will receive the bread of life during the seven years of great suffering. The Mashiach is the savior of all gentiles. He is the bread of life, as it is written in John 6:35,
“Yeshua said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.’”(HNV)
Those that came from other nations did not seek anyone other than Yosef. In the same way, Yeshua is the only one who can satisfy the spiritual hunger of the gentiles. We see, later on, that the Israelites also had to humble themselves in order to receive the bread of life and not die.
This teaches us that only those messages from the Torah, which come from Mashiach ben Yosef, have enough spiritual substance to satisfy the spiritual hunger of the people.
42:6 “Yosef was the governor over the land. It was he who sold to all the people of the land. Yosef’s brothers came, and bowed themselves down to him with their faces to the earth.”(HNV) – Here we see a partial fulfillment of Yosef’s dream. There was still one more brother that had to come before the dream could be completely fulfilled.
This teaches us that there will come a time in history when the Jews, who have not been mixed in among the nations, must go to Yosef’s Son to find the bread of life and not die. It will be a wonderful time when the Jews acknowledge that the one whom the gentiles have called “Jesus Christ” has bread to give them also.
In Hosea 5:15 – 6:3, it is written,
“I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly… Come, and let us return to HaShem; for he has torn us to pieces, and he will heal us; He has injured us, and he will bind up our wounds. After two days will he revive us. On the third day he will raise us up, and we will live before him. Let us acknowledge HaShem. Let us press on to know HaShem. As surely as the sun rises, HaShem will appear. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain that waters the earth.”(HNV revised)
This text is connected to the text in Matthew 23:39, where it is written,
“For I tell you, you will not see me from now on, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”(HNV)
The Messiah said this after he rode into the city. He was foretelling an event that had not yet happened.
In Acts 3:12, 19-21, it is written,
“You men of Yisra’el… Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send Messiah Yeshua, who was ordained for you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which Elohim spoke long ago by the mouth of his consecrated prophets.”(HNV revised)
According to these texts, there are several conditions that must be met in order for Yeshua to be able to return to the earth.
1.     There must be a confession of guilt and repentance among the people of Israel for having denied Yeshua as the Messiah.
2.     There must be an intense seeking after the Eternal in a time of need, which is the Great Tribulation for Ya’akov, according to Jeremiah 30:7.
3.     Two days must pass, which are two thousand years, from the first coming of the Messiah.
4.     The Jewish people must have power over and dwell in the city of Yerushalayim.
5.     Times of restoration of everything that has been spoken of and written about in the prophets’ writings must come.
6.     The majority of the Jewish population in Yerushalayim must say to Yeshua, “Baruch Haba beShem YHWH!”
When all this happens, Yeshua will come back to the earth to rule.
42:8 “Yosef recognized his brothers, but they didn’t recognize him.”(HNV) – In the same way, Yeshua has recognized the Jewish people, without the majority of them having recognized him. He has never rejected his people.
42:13 “They said, ‘We, your servants, are twelve brothers, the sons of one man in the land of Kana`an; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is no more.’”(HNV) – The expression “one is no more” is found twice in this story, compare with verse 32. In verse 38, Ya’akov says that Yosef had died (compare with 44:20). That is the message about Yeshua that the Jewish people have repeated for almost two thousand years. He died, but he was resurrected by Israel’s Elohim. In the same way that Yosef stilled lived and ruled, so Yeshua continues to live and reign at the right hand of Israel’s Elohim in heaven. And at the second meeting he will reveal himself to his brothers.
42:15 “Hereby you shall be tested. By the life of Par`oh you shall not go forth from here, unless your youngest brother come here.”(HNV) – In order for the people to experience the final redemption from the nations and be able to leave their “Egypt” at the second exodus, all twelve tribes must be gathered.
42:17-18 “He put them all together into custody three days. Yosef said to them the third day, “Do this, and live, for I fear Elohim.’”(HNV revised) – This is referring to the death and resurrection of the Messiah. The Messiah, in turn, represents the rest of the children of Israel.
“the third day… live”, compare with Hosea 6:2.
There was no desire for revenge in Yosef’s heart. He was a good Israelite, according to Leviticus 19:18, where it is written,
“You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am HaShem.”(HNV revised)
          The Fifth Aliyah, 42:19 – 43:15
42:21 “They said one to another, ‘We are most assuredly guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the distress of his soul, when he begged us, and we wouldn’t listen. Therefore this distress has come on us.’”(HNV) – The reason that he treated them harshly was because the Eternal was using him to bring out true remorse in them for what they had done. It was also because they needed to pass this test and prove that they really had repented of their sin. Here they were once again in a similar situation and had the chance to make restitution by not abandoning Rachel’s child or deceiving their father. Here we see how Yosef’s treatment of them brings out a positive effect in the brothers, as it is written in 2 Corinthians 7:10,
“For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death.”(HNV)
“distress of his soul” – In the same way, Yeshua’s soul was in distress when he was sold by his brothers and abandoned into the hands of gentiles to die, according to Isaiah 53:11, where it is written,
“He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by the knowledge of himself shall my righteous servant justify many; and he shall bear their iniquities.”(HNV)
42:24 “He turned himself about from them, and wept, and he returned to them, and spoke to them, and took Shim`on from among them, and bound him before their eyes.”(HNV) – Reuven, who was the firstborn, had been opposed to abusing Yosef. Shimon, who was the second, was incredibly violent as well as his brother Levi. They had murdered an entire city. Shimon needed to be dealt with in a specific way so that he could come to repentance from his sins and to humble his hard heart. This was the reason that Yosef took him and imprisoned him.
42:25 “Then Yosef commanded to fill their bags with grain, and to restore every man’s money into his sack, and to give them food for the way. So it was done to them.”(HNV) – In spite of the fact that the brothers did not recognize Yosef at their first meeting, they still received grain that could still their hunger so that they could survive. In the same way, many of the things that Yeshua taught have been recorded in Mishna and Talmud. This is because our Rebbe was constantly surrounded by scribes and Pharisees and they were influenced by his teachings. In this way, Yosef’s Son’s bread has given nourishment to the Jewish people from the time of their first meeting, in spite of the fact that they did not recognize or acknowledge him.
42:30 “The man, the lord of the land, spoke roughly with us, and took us for spies of the country.”(HNV) – This is the way that the Jews feel in the Christian world. The Christians are the ones who have treated the Jews the worst during the past two thousand years. The Jew believes that Jesus Christ hates him. The most horrible crimes have been committed against the Jews in the name of Jesus. The crusades, as well as the Spanish inquisition, and the Nazi extermination were all committed in Jesus Christ’s name. Sadly, this harsh Christian treatment is one of the greatest hindrances for the Jewish people to be able to acknowledge Yosef’s Son as the Messiah. Instead of provoking the Jews to jealousy, they have been provoked to hate their own Messiah. This must change! The foundation of all of this is an anti-Jewish theology and the replacement theology, which are both at the very core of Christianity. Now is the time to crush this theology. The time has now come for the original concepts of the one faith that has passed the test of time throughout the millennia, and which applies to all men, the Hebrew faith, to be restored.
43:8-9 “Yehudah said to Yisra’el, his father, ‘Send the boy with me, and we will arise and go, so that we may live, and not die, both we, and you, and also our little ones. I will be collateral for him. From my hand will you require him. If I don’t bring him to you, and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever’”(HNV) – Here Yehudah steps in and takes charge of the situation. He is willing to be responsible for the younger brother and bear the blame forever if he should not be returned. This shows us what kind of attitude the Messiah, who would be born through Yehudah, had. He was willing to be responsible, not only for his Jewish brothers and sisters, but for the whole world. In order to free us from our sins, he took our blame and was punished in our place so that we could be released from the consequences of our sins, as it is written in 1 John 2:1-2,
“My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Yeshua the Messiah, the righteous. And he is the atoning sacrifice for our (the Jews) sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world (the gentiles).”(HNV)
In 2 Corinthians 5:21, it is written,
“For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of Elohim.”(HNV revised)
          The Sixth Aliyah, 43:16-29
43:26, 28b “When Yosef came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed down themselves to him to the earth… They bowed the head, and did homage.”(HNV) – At long last Yosef’s dream about his brothers was fulfilled. Here they were, all of them together, and the eleven brothers bowed before him. It is interesting to note that the dream spoke of binding sheaves in a harvest field. Here it is evident that it was a question

Global warming or too much snow

December 19, 2009

Sounds like a real snow job to me

Pelosi, and 21 other idiots plus our fearless leader fly off to Copenhagen at great expense to taxpayers at home only to have to return in a big rush because Washington DC is being hit with 20 inches on snow.

I can just see the Almighty sitting above the circle of the earth and having a good laugh at mankinds tom-foolery.

Why don’t we get back to the business of living our lives and enjoying the blessings of the Creator and excepting the redemtion of the Saviour instead of making up all these false religions and stories of man-made fairy tales.

If we really want to know what is going to happen, all we have to do is read “the book” and believe it as the word of God.  Certainly it is better to believe God then to believe man.

Personally I like the snow, could care less about so-called climate change and wish the crazy government would read the constitution and the Bible, believe both and stop trying to change everything.

You can be sure that we will fail with big government being in charge.

Didn’t Isaiah say (really God) that the government will be upon His shoulders and that by His strips we are healed?

This time of year we all could use some healing.  Both spiritually and economically.

Maybe we need a new leader.

May I suggest Yeshua/God’s Salvation for all men?

The so-called anointed one we have put in the Whitehouse doesn’t even know what temperature it is outside and we certainly can’t rely on his governing to save us.

Well,  have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hannuka (dedication holiday) anyway and if your still looking to Obama for change, STOP!

…a great miricle happened there(in Israel) over 2000 years ago!   A body was conceived by the Spirit of G-d… A temple was dedicated and  a great Light came to a people living in darkness…it will not happen in congress today! no way, no how!

May the Light of His glory and Grace come into your life and let this be the season of your salvation.

Emanual (G-d)YHVH with us!

May He come again soon, yet for the second time and sit on the throne of David in Israel as Messiah Ben Joseph and Mesiah Ben David..KING of the Jews and Saviour of the World

The government of this world to be on His shoulders for a thousand years and peace(Shalom) to reign on Earth!

BaRouch HaBa BaShem Adonai! (Blessed is He who comes in the NAME of the LORD)

David’s Comment:  The Chanukah Story is Happening Again
John 10:22-23   Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter.   And Yeshua walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.  (NKJ)

This Friday the Jewish world celebrates Chanukah, or the Feast of Dedication.  It is also known as the Feast of Lights.  This is the celebration of Israel’s deliverance from the Greco-Syrian tyrant Antiochus Epiphanes around 187 BC.  Antiochus was one of the many Anti-Christ manifestations who have tried to destroy the Jews over the last 4000 years. The Lord raised up a small band of zealots, led by the Macabee family to show His amazing power and the vastly outnumbered Jews defeated and ejected the Greek occupiers.  The first thing they did was to cleanse the Temple as Antiochus had the audacity to confront the Holy one of Israel by sacrificing a pig on the altar.

There was a lamp that was required to burn day and night above the altar.  The lamp required a very special oil to fuel the flame, but the Macabees only found enough oil to run the lamp for one day, and it took 8 days to prepare a new batch of oil.  They stepped out in faith and lit the lamp.  The Lord stepped in and miraculously the flame burned for the full eight days until the new oil was ready.  And the Jewish people, who actually do recognise a miracle when they see one, have celebrated Chanukah in the month of Chislev (December) ever since.

As Israel prepares to celebrate the Chanukah miracle in 2009, we have another crisis confronting us.  Actually several !  Firstly we have Hizbollah & Hamas on the northern and southern borders, both re-armed after the recent wars and itching to make another attempt to destroy Israel or the ” Zionist entity” as they refer to Israel.  Then we have the Iranian president who is definately another manifestation of the Anti-Christ spirit that controlled Pharoah, Haman Antiochus, Herod, Hitler and Arafat,   doing his best to advance the coming of the Madji by threatening to completely destroy Israel, and working towards producing the nuclear weapons to do so.

And then we have our former ally, the United States of America, whose current leader may well prove to be an addition to the above list of Israel’s most ardent enemies.  In his goal to appease the Muslim world, He has already managed to force the Israeli leadership to freeze the building of news homes in the Jewish heartland of Judea and Samaria.  God is calling the Jews home and Obama is doing his best to make sure they don’t have a place to live. Forcing Israel
to bow down to the Muslim inspired demands, serves only to show the Muslim world that Israel is weak and doe not have the guts to stand on the Word of God and refuse to be told by Obama and Clinton where Jews can or cant live in the land that God has given them as an eternal inheritance. This places Israel in even greater danger as the Muslim Arab nations hover like vultures over a dying animal.

This week the EU which I believe is the semi-restored Tower of Babel (see The Rape of Europe by David Hathaway ( ), did their best to declare the recognition of a Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital. This is not the destiny of Jerusalem and the Lord intervened and  only a very weak resolution was passed.  But that is not the point.  The point is that in a continuation of the never ending Chanukah story, wicked men want to put their sticky fingers on Jerusalem for their own Anti-Christ purposes.   The Bible tells us that Israel / Jerusalem  touches the apple of God’s eye.  And God is not amused when wicked men attempt to poke Him in the eye.  Every great empire and tyrant who have done so very quickly met their demise.  Among them – the Babylon Empire, the Medo-Persian Empire, the Greece Empire, the Roman Empire, the British Empire, the Pharaoh, Haman, Antiochus, Herod, Hitler, Arafat.  And now the Global community, including your nation, is making the same fatal mistake.

Right now, as another Chanukah approaches, in the natural Israel’s future looks grim.  The Muslims want to destroy us – the news media tells terrible lies about us,  the worlds leaders are conspiring to steal our land, and many in the Church oppose the promises of God to the Jewish people.  But if we look back at Israel’s history, as should be expected the God of Israel sovereignly and supernaturally steps in every time an anti-Christ inspired enemy rises up to abort His plans and purposes for Israel and the Jewish people.  Their ultimate destiny is to be the physical location of the Kingdom of YHVH on the Earth.

Therefore as Bible believing Christians, lets join our hearts with the Jewish people this weekend and celebrate the Chanukah story and give thanks to the Lord for the victories of the past, and lets pray and intercede for the victories of the future, until ” the Kingdoms of this world become the Kingdom of our God and of His Anointed One.”  Lets stand with and for Israel in the spiritual battle until Yeshua is securely enthroned on the Throne of David, sitting  atop the place  where the Holy of Holies stood, in a rebuilt Temple on the Temple Mount  – in Jerusalem, the City of the King and the eternal undivided capital city of Israel !

Hag Chanuhak Sameach  🙂

The Lord bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel.  Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God.  Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for that breakthrough to the Muslims,  and please remember to pray for all of the soldiers in the IDF -they are defending and fighting for the Kingdom of God.

Shabbat Shalom …. David & Josie

The European Union’s council of foreign ministers on Tuesday passed a watered-down version of a controversial resolution tabled last week by Sweden, deciding to call for negotiations that would result in Jerusalem becoming the “capital of two states” – Israel and a future Palestinian state.   “If there is to be [peace] a way has to be found to resolve the status of Jerusalem as the capital of two states,” the declaration read. The final version will now have to be approved by EU leaders at an end-of-year summit later this week.  Sweden had originally proposed a draft statement that would have only recognized east Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state. Israeli diplomats lobbied hard to amend the document, insisting it should instead endorse the Netanyahu government’s new settlement freeze and strongly urge the Palestinians to return to peace talks.
The final version was not as bad as expected, but still had some problematic clauses from an Israeli standpoint. While calling the settlement freeze “a step in the right direction,” the document also called for the establishment of a Palestinian state comprising the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem, and maintained that “the EU will not recognize any changes to the pre-1967 borders, including with regard to Jerusalem.”  This latter provision undermines Israel’s hopes to negotiate adjustments to the pre-1967 lines and retain some of the larger settlement blocs like Ariel and Ma’ale Adumim.   In an official response to the EU statement, Israel’s Foreign Ministry said it “ignores the primary obstacle to achieving a resolution between Israel and the Palestinians: the Palestinian refusal to return to the negotiating table… Israel regrets that the EU has chosen to adopt a text that, although containing nothing new, does not contribute to the renewal of negotiations.”   Jerusalem also welcomed the fact that “responsible and reasonable” EU states had managed to balance and improve the Swedish proposal. Israel also urged the EU to “consider Israel’s security needs and [show] understanding that Israel’s Jewish character must be preserved in any future agreement.”
Meanwhile, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat was not as diplomatic in his response, saying he “completely rejects the decision of the EU to support the division of Jerusalem.” He noted that the recent celebration of the 20th anniversary of the reunification of Berlin reminds us that “no divided city in the history of the world has functioned properly.”   In other reactions, Palestinian Authority prime minister Salaam Fayyad welcomed the EU decision, describing it as an important step en route to Palestinian statehood.

Please pray that Jerusalem will never be divided again ( Psalm 2, Palsm 83,  Zechariah 12:2 – 3 )  and that the Lord will actually increase the size of  Israel to its ultimate borders –  from the Nile to the Euphrates (Gen 15:18)   Pray that the EU (the restored Babel) will bow down to Yeshua

2.  Palestinians Trying to Coerce Israel into Accepting Statehood    Ha Aretz News Dec 11th
Defense establishment officials said Wednesday that the Palestinian Authority is orchestrating a diplomatic campaign with the international community to coerce Israel into accepting a political arrangement which would pave the way for the establishment of a Palestinian state.  Military Intelligence Chief Amos Yadlin, Shin Bet Director Yuval Diskin and other top defense officials told ministers during a briefing at the political-security cabinet that the Palestinian Authority is trying to push Israel into a settlement “from above” by drawing in the international community.  The current calm in the West Bank and the Palestinian Authority’s crackdown on violence there has prompted to international community to demand Israel advance the political process, said the officials.   “The Palestinians want to continue to build their state from below and at the same time to work with the United States and the European Union to force Israel into an arrangement from above,” Yadlin and Diskin told the ministers.  “A vacuum has been created due to the stalled peace process into which a number of different states are putting their own initiatives, none of which are in Israel’s favor,” they said. “The fact that the United States has also reached a dead-end in its efforts only worsens the problem.   During the briefing, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lambasted the Palestinian Authority for its campaign, saying: “There cannot be a real solution to the Palestinian issue without negotiations with Israel.”
Please pray that the Lord will bring confusion to every plan of the enemy to establish a Muslim state on God’s Land

The cat-and-mouse games continued on Tuesday between Israeli authorities and settler activists opposed to the ten-month moratorium on new housing starts in Judea/Samaria, ahead of a large anti-freeze rally planned for Wednesday evening outside the prime minister’s residence in Jerusalem. Civil administration inspectors tasked with enforcing the freeze have visited most of the Jewish settlements in the West Bank already, handing out numerous stop work orders. But they believe they will have to continue visiting the settlements on an almost daily basis in order to enforce the orders, and expect to meet with resistance on most occasions. Most 60 activists, mostly young people, lay down in the middle of Route 1 leading into Jerusalem on Monday evening to protest the 10 month settlement freeze, with eight being taken into custody. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak urged all citizens to obey the rule of law. “We intend to exhaust every avenue to restart the negotiations and initiate an agreement that can end the conflict and create a reality of two states living side by side, ending our occupation of another people. The goal is still far away,” said Barak.

4. Intelligence Warns Iran Has Technical Ability to Build Bomb   ICEJ News   Dec 8
But recent Iranian war games exposed flaws in air defensesIran now has the technical capability to build a nuclear bomb and the only element lacking is the decision to go ahead and build one, Brig.-Gen. Yossi Baidatz, head of IDF Military Intelligence’s research division, told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Monday.   Baidatz said Iran had successfully enriched 1,800 kg. of uranium, which is “more or less enough for one-and-a-half nuclear bombs.” He added that Iran had been upgrading its missile arsenal, and had developed missiles with the capability of carrying nuclear weapons that can reach Israel.
During his own appearance before the same committee on Monday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted that Iran’s renegade nuclear program is Israel’s biggest strategic challenge. “Our highest interest is in preventing Iran’s [nuclear] armament…there is coordination with America regarding Iran – information and intensive assessment – and diplomatic coordination cannot be ruled out.”    Meanwhile, Jane’s reported on Tuesday that Iran’s recent war games designed to flaunt its networks of air defense radars and missiles has instead revealed serious flaws in the system designed to protect the Islamic Republic’s renegade nuclear program and other war fighting abilities.
Brigadier General Ahmad Mighani, commander of the air force, boasted before the war games began that they would prove it is “impossible for enemy jets to enter [Iranian] territory.” But according to a team of international security experts quoted by Jane’s, the system, including two domestically produced radars, failed spectacularly during the tests and would not be able to defend against air strikes by the Israeli or US air forces.
Please pray that all of Iran’s nuclear secrets will be exposed and that the US will join Israel in any mission to knock Iran’s nuclear facilties out

5. Jerusalem Suicide Bombing Thwarted    Israel Today News  Dec 10th
A young Palestinian man was arrested Wednesday as he attempted to enter Jerusalem with six pipe bombs in his possession. During subsequent questioning, police learned that the man intended to carry out a suicide bomb attack in the city’s downtown district.  At the height of the latest Palestinian terrorist uprising from 2001-2003, suicide bomb attacks in Jerusalem were almost a weekly occurrence.   In related news, a Palestinian Arab entered the Samarian Jewish community of Revava on Wednesday and began trying to stab local residents with a large commando knife. Two local residents were able to wrestle the assailant to the ground and hold him until Israeli soldiers arrived. There were no injuries in the attempted attack.
Please pray that all terror attempts will be thwarted as this one was

Palestinians See Shalit Deal as Motivation to Kidnap More Israelis   Israel Today News   Dec 10th
6.     Palestinians from Hamas to Fatah see Israel’s willingness to trade nearly 1,000 jailed terrorists, even those who have directly murdered Israelis, for abducted soldier Gilad Shalit as incentive to kidnap a lot more Israelis in the future.   “The [Israeli] message is clear and unequivocal,” wrote Abdallah Awad in the Palestinian daily Al-Ayyam. “Only, only – says the Hebrew state – by force, detainment, capture, and kidnapping of occupation soldiers, is it possible to free Palestinian prisoners ‘whose hands are stained with blood’ [i.e., serving life sentences for murder].”    Top Palestinian Authority columnist Hani al-Masri, also writing for Al-Ayyam, echoed that in his assertion that “Israel understands only the language of force, since kidnapping is the only thing that leaves open the gates of hope for freedom for prisoners with long prison terms.”
Al-Masri noted that with such a formula in place, more Palestinians would be encouraged to become terrorists, certain that no matter how terrible their deeds, if but one Israeli soldier could be kidnapped, their release from prison would be assured.  Those are some of the reasons Israelis groups such as the Almagor Terror Victims Association are fighting so hard against a swap deal for Shalit. To be sure, all Israelis want Shalit freed, but not at the risk of even more Israelis dying because deadly terrorists were set free to bring Shalit home. According to Almagor, nearly 200 Israelis have been killed over the past decade by terrorists released in previous prisoner exchanges.
Please pray that the Israeli arm will find & release Gilad Shalit alive,  before any prisoner exchange goes ahead

7.  Bride & Father Arrested for Moving Their Lips on the Temple Mount   Arutz 7  Dec 8th
A Jewish bride and her father were arrested on the Temple Mount the day before her wedding, after an Arab policeman claimed he saw the father muttering prayers and the bride nodding her head.   The father and daughter were being taken around the site on Wednesday morning by her brother Eli, a volunteer who conducts regular tours at the Temple Mount, when suddenly they were accosted by the Jerusalem policeman.  “We were in the northern part, and I was showing them the archaeological evidence when suddenly a police officer came over to us, Mahmoud Hativ was his name, and h claimed that my father had muttered prayers. “We tried to argue with him and said it wasn’t true, but he said, ‘You can’t fool me,’ and insisted that my father had prayed,” Eli told Israel National News.  “My sister was just standing there silently, not moving at all. She didn’t say a word. It was her first time at the Mount. Other cops came over, Mahmoud said that she had also been involved, and they decided to arrest them both,” he continued. “He let me go right away, because he couldn’t make any claim against me.” His sister and father were taken to the Kishla police station near the Jaffa Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Obama is racist when it comes to Israel…

December 7, 2009

The CARMEL ALERT  Dec 4th  2009
A compilation of news reports from the past week for the information of those committed to praying
for Israel  and the salvation of the Jewish  people

Guest Comment:    Finally, Israel Gets It!         by Sara Blicharz November 27, 2009

For more than five years, I have been conspicuously alone in pointing out the racist, anti-Jewish nature of policies that require the evacuation of Israelis from Gaza, Judea and Samaria and, more lately, the halts on building and repairing homes and businesses owned by Jews in Jerusalem.   Finally, someone in Israel has figured this out and called the policies advocated by Barack Obama and the international elite what they are.  “Israeli law does not discriminate between Jews, Muslims and Christians or between eastern and western Jerusalem,” said Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat. “The demand to halt construction by religion is not legal in the United States or in any other free place in the world. I do not presume that any government would demand to freeze construction in the United States based on race, religion or gender, and the attempt to demand it from Jerusalem is a double standard and inconceivable.”

Barkat was responding to Obama’s remarks on Fox News Channel about the approval of 900 new apartments in the southern Jerusalem community of Gilo as “settlement activity,” suggesting, irrationally and irresponsibly, that it justified Palestinian violence. The Palestinian Authority quickly adopted Obama’s line to rationalize future terrorist attacks.  However, even the most appeasing Israelis – people like Shimon Peres – see Gilo, with its existing population of 30,000 Jews right in the heart of the Israeli capital, as undisputedly Israeli territory, land that will never be negotiated away.  It’s clear now Obama, like the Muslim world, doesn’t believe any Israeli territory is beyond dispute.   This is what I have been saying and writing since 2004.

When the Palestinian Authority demanded that all Jews leave Gaza in anticipation of declaring it to be part of a future Palestinian state, the world did not notice the implications.   Why would Jews not be welcome living in a Palestinian state?    Because the Palestinian leadership is racist.    Why would blatant ethnic cleansing of this sort be embraced by the world when ethnic cleansing in other parts of the world is roundly denounced? Why is there an exception made for Jews? Why is it OK to remove Jews from their homes and businesses in the Middle East? Why is it acceptable to forbid Jews from building and repairing homes and businesses on the basis of their religion? How can this be tolerated, let alone condoned and championed as progressive policy by people like Obama?

What would you say if I told you the United States is backing a plan to uproot forcibly people from their homes because they are Muslim?    You would probably be incredulous  ………    You would probably be shocked  ……..    You would probably be outraged ……   And you would be right.  Well, rest assured there was no plan backed by the United States to uproot forcibly peaceful Muslims from their homes anywhere in the world.   There was, however, a plan to do just that to several thousand peaceful Jews, many of whom have lived for a generation in thriving communities – showcases of prosperity and freedom for their neighbors.

This anti-Semitic ethnic cleansing plan was known as the “disengagement” plan in Gaza and parts of the West Bank.  There is only one reason these people were displaced – because they are Jews in a land where Jews are not welcome.   And the world condoned it.  In May, Obama announced he would be taking what he and his administration referred to as “a more balanced approach to Middle East policy.”    I explained what that meant.  “It means the U.S. government is now using its clout with Israel to insist Jews, not Israelis, mind you, but Jews, be disallowed from living in East Jerusalem and the historically Jewish lands of Judea and Samaria, often referred to as the West Bank,” I wrote. “I want you to try to imagine the outrage, the horror, the outcry, the clamoring, the gnashing of teeth that would ensue if Arabs or Muslims were told they could no longer live in certain parts of Israel – let alone their own country.”

“The Nazis had a word for what Barack Obama declared in the United Nations General Assembly last week,” I wrote. “When a city or a district or a nation was ‘clean of Jews,’ it was pronounced ‘Judenrein.’ The goal of the Nazis was, of course, for all of Europe to be cleansed of Jews – then the whole world.”
Was I being harsh?     Not if you understand the nature of Obama’s demand for an end to “Israeli settlements” in Judea, Samaria, East Jerusalem – and, now apparently, the entire city.   Since Obama took office in January, the U.S. government has greatly increased pressure on Israel to halt any and all of the following:

  • building of new homes and businesses by Jews in these areas;
  • building additions on existing homes and businesses by Jews in these areas;
  • repairing of existing homes and businesses by Jews in these areas;

Why would the U.S. government want to stop Jews from building homes and businesses in lands that have been under Israel’s control for the last 42 years and a part of Israel’s history for the last 3,000 years?   Because the U.S. government has predetermined that these lands are going to be part of a future Palestinian state – one that will be conspicuously Jew-free.  In other words, Barack Obama is in favor of an ethnic-cleansing operation – one that will eventually require the forcible removal of all Jews, no matter how long they have lived in these areas, no matter what they paid for their properties no matter what.  I’m gratified to see an Israeli awakening to what has been the plan from the beginning.   Jews in the Middle East are starting to get the picture – if a little late !

Israel on Sunday revealed that it will set free 980 jailed Palestinian terrorists in exchange for abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who has been held in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip since June 25, 2006.   If the deal for Shalit goes through it will happen in two stages. First, Shalit will be moved to Egypt and Israel will set free 450 terrorists specifically demanded by Hamas. In the second stage, Shalit will be returned to Israel and an additional 530 Palestinian terrorists of Israel’s choosing will be released as a goodwill gesture to the Palestinians.  The number of prisoners involved in the swap was revealed during a Supreme Court hearing on a petition by bereaved Israelis who have lost loved ones in Palestinian terror attacks. The victims of past terror attacks insist that the state disclose the names of the terrorists it plans to release, but so far have met a brick wall.
State prosecutors say that publicizing the names of those to be traded for Shalit poses a security risk and could undermine the deal. Lawyers representing the bereaved family members noted that if Israel can give the names to Hamas, then publicizing them is clearly not a security risk. Furthermore, if there are objectionable names on the list, then scuttling the exchange could save lives.   According to organizations representing the victims of Palestinian terror, prisoners released by Israel in past exchanges or gestures of goodwill have gone on to kill 180 Israelis.

2. Israel Begins Crackdown on Settlement Construction   Ha Aretz News   Nov 30th
Israeli inspectors armed with aerial maps and empowered to confiscate construction equipment have begun enforcing a limited government moratorium on new building in West Bank settlements, officials said on Monday.   The 10-month freeze on new housing projects was announced by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week, who pitched it as an attempt to persuade Palestinians to return to U.S.-sponsored peace talks suspended since December.  The temporary moratorium does not apply to areas in the West Bank that Israel annexed after capturing the territory from Jordan in the 1967 Six Day War.   Palestinians, who seek to establish a state in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, brushed off the Israeli step as insufficient and a ruse.
Netanyahu’s decision pits the government against settlers who, in many cases, have long expanded their enclaves without state approval   “We are conducting operations throughout the West Bank. We have issued stop-work orders and begun confiscating equipment,” said Lee Hiromoto, spokesman for the division in the Defense Ministry which handles West Bank administration.  “We have a good number of enforcement agents in the field, accompanied by security forces,” he said.   Leaders of the some 300,000 Israelis living in the West Bank have accused Netanyahu – whose coalition government includes pro-settler parties – of capitulating to pressure from the Obama administration for a breakthrough with the Palestinians.
In Reuters TV footage that was aired in Israel on Sunday, Gershon Messika, head of the Samaria Regional Council in the northern West Bank, tore up a stop-work order delivered to him by an Israel Defense Forces major.  “This is an order to halt construction in the state of Israel. This is a racist, immoral and illegal decision which is therefore invalid,” Messika said.  Asked about the incident, Hiromoto said: “There was no violence.” He did not immediately offer details on where or why construction equipment had been confiscated.  Israel Radio said building inspectors had on Monday visited settlements in the Etzion and Binyamin blocs abutting Jerusalem.

3. Pro-Settler Group to Court: Stop Settlement Freeze    Ha Aretz News   Nov 30th
The Legal Forum for the Land of Israel on Monday appealed to the High Court of Justice to put a stop to the government’s plan to enforce the construction freeze.  The appeal was submitted a day after Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered his ministry to appoint 40 new supervisors across the territories to ensure no new construction be carried out.   In the group’s appeal, attorney Yossi Fuchs said that such a decision must be made By the whole government, not just the cabinet.  “A decision likely to bring serious harm to the assets of Israeli citizens and is unrelated to security cannot be made in an underhanded, covert way, by a secret security cabinet or predetermined without any chance for ministers to appeal,” he wrote.   Fourteen construction supervisors are currently operating in the West Bank. Within two weeks, 40 new supervisors will be trained to begin working in the region and dozens more will be recruited down the line to enforce the construction freeze.  The Israel Police, the Border Police and the Civil Administration will all participate in the enforcement of the freeze alongside the supervisors, under the authority of the Israel Defense Forces.

4. Europe May Recognise  Palestinian State    Ha Aretz News      Dec 1st
Israel’s Ha’aretz daily newspaper reported on Tuesday that a resolution to be discussed and probably approved at a meeting of European Union foreign ministers next week calls for the establishment of Jerusalem as the capital of “Palestine,” and grants recognition to a Palestinian state declared unilaterally outside the framework of a peace deal with Israel.  The controversial wording is being pushed by Sweden, though many EU representatives are believed to support it.
Palestinians lauded the report, and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas’ spokesman also lobbied the UN General Assembly on Monday to likewise recognize a unilateral declaration of independence by the Palestinian Authority.   The official was addressing the General Assembly on the anniversary of the 1947 vote on the UN Partition Plan, which recognized Jewish and Arab states west of the Jordan River. Israel accepted the vote, but the Arabs did not, and instead invaded the nascent Jewish state. Despite that fact, the UN marks the day as a day of mourning, and uses it to blast what it calls Israel’s “illegal occupation.”
Meanwhile, Israeli officials cried foul over the international community’s willingness to accept dangerous unilateral Palestinian declarations just days after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to a settlement freeze in order to get peace talks going again.  After the important steps taken by the government of Israel to enable the resumption of negotiations with the Palestinians, the European Union must now exert pressure on the Palestinians to return to the negotiating table,” read a statement released by Israel’s Foreign Ministry.

5. Iran Ups the Ante With Plans for Ten More Enrichment Plants   ICEJ News  Nov 30th
Tehran is playing ‘extremely dangerous game’  In a dramatic ratcheting up of its nuclear standoff with the international community, Iran gave a defiant answer on Sunday to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s censure of Tehran just two days earlier, announcing plans to build ten new uranium enrichment facilities and threatening to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty.

    6. Report: Mediators Seek to Lower Hamas Demands For Shalit  Swap    Ha Aretz News  Dec 4th
The German mediators overseeing negotiations between Israel and Hamas hope to convince the Islamist group to reduce the number of prisoners it is demanding be released in exchange for abducted Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit, the London-based daily Al-Hayyat reported on Friday.  According to Al-Hayyat, three major issues were delaying conclusion of deal: First, Israel is refusing to release 50 of the 450 prisoners requested by Hamas for the swap; second, Israel will not rescind on its insisters to send 130 of the released prisoners into exile; third, Israel does not want to free Israeli Arabs as part of the deal.   Meanwhile, Hamas on Friday announced that a snag has once again been reached in the prisoner swap negotiations, despite rumors that a deal was already underway for the release of abducted Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit. “Israel is adventurous and refusing Hamas’ request to complete the deal,” a Hamas official told the Al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper, adding that Israel’s refusal had been passed on to the group via German mediators.
The group’s accusations came a day after Palestinian daily Al-Ayyam reported that Hamas has rejected Israel’s latest deal offer for Shalit.  According to Al-Ayyam, the gap between the two sides has narrowed to only 15 prisoners out of the 450 Hamas is demanding in exchange for Shalit. Israel has agreed to free the other 435. But the paper quoted Hamas sources as saying that the 15 prisoners Israel is refusing to release represent “a red line, without which there will be no deal.”   On Friday, the spokesman for the Palestine Resistance Committees called the negotiations “difficult and exhausting” and urged the media to be careful in their reports on the matter. “It has a negative effect on the families of the prisoners,” said PRC spokesman Abu Mujaheed.  Media around the world began reporting on Thursday that the deal was underway, however, The Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jareida reported that Shalit had been transferred from the Gaza Strip to Egypt and was being held there secretly by Hamas’ military leader Ahmed Jabari.

7. Will the Third Temple Be Built Next Year?    Israel Today  Nov 39
According to a centuries-old rabbinical prophecy that appears to be coming true, on March 16, 2010, Israel will begin construction of the Third Temple in Jerusalem.  During the 18th century, the Vilna Gaon, a respected rabbinical authority, prophesied that the Hurva Synagogue in Jerusalem, which was built during his day, would be destroyed and rebuilt twice, and that when the Hurva was completed for the third time, construction on the Third Temple would begin.  The Hurva Synagogue was first destroyed shortly after its initial construction when Muslims demanding the return of loans tore it down. The synagogue was rebuilt a hundred years later and became the most important Jewish house of worship in the Holy Land, only to be blown to pieces by Jordanian troops during Israel’s 1948 War of Independence. In 2001, Israel finally decided to rebuild the landmark, which today stands in the centre of the Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem’s Old City. The building is scheduled to be completed and the Hurva Synagogue dedicated for the third time on March 15 of next year.
