Leland, in coastal North Carolina:  Just across the rivers (Cape Fear and Brunswick) lies a land of opportunity and promise.

Named after the son of the local Postmaster years ago, Leland has slept in the shadow of the historical city of Wilmington for many years…

Recently Leland, now known as the “Gateway” to beautiful Brunswick County is “morphing” to the new Bruswick Town it is destined to become.

New housing developements, shopping centers and civic centers will soon rival the streets of downtown Wilmington in friendly competition for business, recreation and retirement making places like Brunswick Forest, Magnolia Greens, Waterford, Westport, Mallory Creek and many other neighborhoods the choice for active people from all over.

Just a little encouragment in some areas of general “housekeeping” will have people sitting up and taking notice…

Imagine highways with neatly trimed and flowering vista’s flowing through the area…Sidewalks and river walks for people to prominade on…Clean parks and boat ramps for recreation with small boats.

Of course, there will be new schools, ball fields, civic auditoriums and churches for “One nation under God”

If this is your vision as it is mine, come to Leland and spend some time.  We have a brand new hotel with swimming pool, a bowling alley around the corner and other hotels and entertainment centers either currently being built or on the drawing boards.

Don’t blink! this is all happening fast and getting in on the “ground floor” may be just what the doctor ordered.

Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them.  It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

This is an idea that we should address.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress.  Their latest stunt is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform that they passed …  in all of its forms.  Somehow, that doesn’t seem logical.  We do not have an elite ruling class that is above the law.  I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever.  The self-serving must stop.
If each person that receives this will forward it on to 15 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message.  This is one proposal that really should be passed around.

Dear Faithful Friend, It’s Tuesday evening. Mom and Dad and their three young children are gathered in their small apartment, not far from Tel Aviv. Like everyone in Israel, they are sitting in front of the television watching the battle that is being fought with Hamas. Suddenly, the erie scream of the siren begins to crescendo and soon fills the night air. For a moment there is confusion. Isn’t this the center of the country far from the front line of the battle? Aren’t we out of the range of the Hamas rockets? The siren continues its harsh cry and suddenly snapping into focus- the parents grab their young children and join the rest of the occupants of the building as they rush to the public bomb shelter in the basement. Locking the door, they wait in silence. Just as suddenly as it started, the siren stops. In the quiet, there are several large explosions and then after few minutes, hoping that the danger has passed, they anxiously leave the shelter. The Iron Dome had done its job. The missile defense system had spotted the approaching missiles, locked onto their trajectory and in a few moments, the rockets carrying death and destruction were blown apart and fell to the ground harmlessly. The goal of the enemy had been to kill many, but by God’s grace and Israel’s advanced technology, their evil goals had not been accomplished. On the same evening, on the other side of the country near Jerusalem, another couple is sitting in their living room. All is quiet when suddenly a huge barrage of missiles is fired from Gaza towards the capital city. These missiles are fairly large weapons, each carrying a payload of deadly explosives. The radar system that guards the entire country spots the speeding rockets. Quickly the computers determine that these deadly missiles are heading for Jerusalem. The sirens in and around Jerusalem go off and people all over the city take cover in their shelters. Again, the trajectory of the missiles is locked onto by the Iron Dome and a few moments later, the incoming threat is neutralized with loud explosions. The sirens cease their eerie cry, the people leave their safe rooms and a collective prayer of thanksgiving goes up before heaven. God has again protected His chosen city from those who would seek to destroy it. It’s a joyous though pensive night in Ashkelon. The bride and groom are standing under the chupa about to exchange their vows. A large crowd of family and friends have gathered to celebrate this special occasion. Suddenly, the scream of the siren fills the night. There are only seconds between the launch of the missile from the enemy camp until the time of its impact. The bride and groom, along with the many guests run for cover. This time the Iron Dome misses its mark. The rocket speeds through the night air and comes crashing down with a loud explosion directly outside the wedding hall. The windows shatter and cars in the parking lot are destroyed. Police cars, fire trucks and ambulances come speeding to the place of impact. Amazingly, none have been injured! He who guards Israel never sleeps nor slumbers. A few minutes later the group regathers in another room and the vows are spoken and the wedding is completed.   (click on picture to see video of actual event) Yesterday, we were having lunch with our ten year old granddaughter. Over the meal, she casually said to me, “Grandpa, yesterday 160 rockets were fired into Israel.” I was struck by how common place and natural this all seemed to her. In her short ten years, she has already experienced three times that Israel has suffered a rain of death from their enemies. How amazing it is to live in a land where the outrageous is accepted as common. What other nation in all the earth would sit by while over two hundred missiles were aimed at her cities and towns before finally responding? And Respond We Did! Today, Israel is beginning the third day of “Operation Defensive Edge”. A campaign that according to Prime Minister Netanyahu will extract a heavy price from Hamas for their blatant aggression against Israel. Already there have been over 750  attacks in the Gaza Strip in the first 56 hours. The targets include terrorist infrastructure, command and control centers, weapons, jihadist leaders and terrorist fighters. The Israeli government has promised that the campaign will be intensified in the coming days with a land invasion being held out as a possibility. Yesterday, the military was given authority to activate up to 40,000 reservists. All over Israel, men are exchanging their civilian clothes for uniforms to become a part of the force that is called to defend this land. In times like this the deep truth that “All Israel are brothers” is lived out in a very real way. It is this undergirding unity that enables this nation to persevere through so many decades of warfare and opposition. Here are a few current reports: Hamas has succeeded in launching rockets 120 KM into Israel with some of them landing just south of Haifa. Almost all of Israel’s major population centers have come under enemy fire. Over 100 rockets were launched into Israel on Wednesday alone. In spite of Israeli attacks, the rockets continue to be fired from Gaza. Yesterday four terrorists attempted to infiltrate Israel from the sea. They were intercepted by Israeli troops and all were killed. Israel destroyed the homes of all of Hamas’ senior leaders.The IDF reported that more targets have been destroyed in the first 36 hours of the present campaign than in the entire “Pillar of Defense” operation in 2012. Hamas launched rockets yesterday evening at Dimona where Israel’s nuclear reactor is located. Two of the missiles were shot down by the Iron Dome with the remaining projectiles falling in empty fields. No damage was reported. The “Iron Dome” missile defense system is operating at an amazing 92% success rate. Tuesday night, the Body of Messiah from Jerusalem gathered for an emergency prayer meeting. How edifying it was to see brothers and sisters from most of Jerusalem’s congregations gathered together in unity to pray for God’s help and strength in this time of great danger. A Tragic History There is no joy in watching the men and women of Gaza suffer the wrath of Israel’s military might. As always, innocent people are caught in the midst and are dying and the fires of hatred are being ignited as young children see their homes destroyed. I ask myself why their leadership would bring such destruction upon themselves? Eight years ago, Israel unilaterally withdrew from the Gaza Strip to give the Palestinian people a chance to build their nation. Funds were provided from all over the world. Israel, along with all peace loving nations waited in anticipation; would these people who have suffered and hated for so long finally cease their endless and hopeless struggle? Almost immediately the feared became reality. Instead of building a nation those empowered to lead these people built a terrorist camp. It is easier to destroy than to build. It is simpler to just blame Israel.          Instead of the trowel, they chose the gun. Instead of apartments for their people, they built storehouses for weapons. Instead of youth camps and schools to build unity and understanding in the hearts of their children, they chose to poison them with visions of martyrdom and murder. Hamas knowingly brought this destruction upon themselves and their people. For weeks, Israel pleaded with their leadership to stop the attacks. They were told repeatedly they would receive “quiet for quiet” but they chose to continue. What sort of leadership would knowingly bring such destruction upon their people? What manner of delusion would cause them to open a battle with one of the strongest militaries in the world? Even today, the Hamas leadership publicly defended their use of human shields as a viable tactic against the “enemy”. As the smoke rises above the destruction of Gaza, we see the fruit of a people who have chosen to serve Allah, the god of fear and death instead of the God of love. Today every Israeli knows that there can be no compromise with these forces of hatred. One must win and the other must lose. The battle is between light and dark. Newt’s comments on Obamaism’s stupid border policy

President Obama’s Border Absurdity

President Barack Obama is in Texas today.

Texas is the center of the current crisis at the border. From Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, thousands upon thousands of children are pouring into the United States.

This flood of foreign children is not a problem of border security. They are not sneaking across the border illegally. Under the Feinstein Amendment of 2008, unaccompanied minors from these countries can present themselves at a legal border crossing, claim to be political refugees and seek asylum.

The argument on the left is that these three countries have violent gangs and therefore we have a moral obligation to take in their children. One Democratic senator told me that the real key was to end violence in those three countries.

Given last weekend’s 82 shot and 16 killed in Chicago, I wanted to ask that senator how he thought his policies would be more successful in Central America than they have been in our third-largest city.

It is in this context of the liberal fantasy — that we owe the world everything, we can do nothing to protect ourselves and everyone else is innocent while we Americans somehow have an extra burden to take care of their problems — that you have to view the President’s current actions.

The President’s trip highlights vividly the failure of Obama-ism.

It is clear he wants our money.

He is doing two big Democratic fundraisers in Texas this week to get political money.

He has just sent up a request to Congress for an additional $3.7 billion to address the immigration crisis on the southern border — the majority of which would go toward caring for the unaccompanied minors crossing the border. Still, this request is larger than the entire U.S. Border Patrol budget in 2013.

Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, on CNN’s “Crossfire” Tuesday night, demolished the President’s proposal.

“That’s $60,000 per child that we’re going to spend, in emergency money,” he pointed out. (Parents and students trying to get through college should contemplate that number.) “That shows just how incompetent we [are] — we can’t do that for three or four thousand per child?…If we can’t do that, the Border Patrol is as bad as the VA.”

“For $8 million,” he pointed out later in the show, “we can put them all on a first-class seat back to their homes.”

Actually, he exaggerated a little bit. A business class flight from San Antonio to Guatemala City is about $450. Lowest economy ticket is $318. For the 60,000 young people entering the United States this year under the Feinstein Amendment, flying home commercially would be in the range of $18 to $26 million plus the cost of staffing etc. So the Coburn plan might cost (once staff, etc. is included) in the $40 million to $80 million range.

That means, of course, that the Coburn plan would save at least $3.62 billion over the Obama plan.

Why is the Obama plan so expensive? Simple. Left-wing Democrats wake up every morning knowing the answer is bigger government and more money. They just don’t know what the question is.

The border crisis is a new opportunity for Obama to create even bigger government, spending even more of our children’s money. In a rational world it would be an absurdity, but this is the world of Obama and Sen. Harry Reid, and nothing involving more spending and bigger government is absurd to them.

Coburn also noted that the current scale of the border crisis would disappear if Congress would simply repeal the Feinstein Amendment.

Chairman Bob Goodlatte of the House Judiciary Committee also noted that there are a number of executive actions the President could take which would end the open borders for foreign children policy. The Obama administration policy of “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” was an executive decision to begin with (and one of questionable legality). The President certainly has the authority to enforce immigration law.

The Obama policy instead assumes the border will remain open and he wants to use taxpayer money to fund the lengthy process of getting children from Central America involved in the American legal system. It is a great excuse to have the government hire even more lawyers.

House Republicans should immediately repeal the Feinstein Amendment and call on the President to do everything within his power to stop this rush on our borders. Let’s see how long Democratic senators up for reelection can allow Reid to bottle up a solution to the flood of foreign children coming into our country.

Three cheers for Senator Coburn and a loud “no” to President Obama is the right response to this mess.

Freedom of the press is under attack

In an effort to hide the awful truth from surfacing about his so-called “humanitarian crisis,” President Obama is now “muzzling the media” — attempting to control what Americans see and hear coming from Murrieta, California and areas impacted by his “invasion.”

Freedom of the press no longer matters to our Radical-In-Chief who has told the media they cannot record, or ask questions while touring a military facility in Oklahoma that is housing what Newsmax calls “tens of thousands of children, adults, gang bangers, and potentially Muslim terrorists.”

Instead, Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services is providing talking points and photos … (Sounds a little like Nazi Germany?).

Border Agents are being ordered to stop speaking to the media. Even elected officials are being denied access to housing facilities, while others, like Harry Cuellar (D-TX) are being told by the White House to stop criticizing Obama over the immigration crisis!

his Arab ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main

Arab business in East Africa for centuries until the British ended it.

 

Let that sink in: Obama is not the descendant of slaves, he is the

descendant of slave owners.

Thus he makes the perfect Liberal Messiah.

 

It’s something Hillary doesn’t understand – how some complete

neophyte came out of the blue and stole the Dem nomination from

her. Obamamania is beyond politics and reason. It is a true religious

cult, whose adherents reject Christianity yet still believe in Original Sin,

transferring it from the evil of being human to the evil of being white.

Thus Obama has become the white liberals’ Christ, offering absolution

from the Sin of Being White. There is no reason or logic behind it,

no faults or flaws of his can diminish it, no arguments Hillary could make

of any kind can be effective against it. The absurdity of Hypocrisy

Clothed In Human Flesh being their Savior is all the more cause for

liberals to worship him:

Credo quia absurdum, I believe it because it is absurd.

 

Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain Christian

and are in no desperate need of a phony savior.

 

He is ridiculous and should not be taken seriously by any thinking American.

 

And yet he got elected, not once but twice. Thanks to those that did

not think it was important to vote for freedom and those that were willing

to give up their freedoms for entitlements.

 

Remember you don’t have to be on a southern plantation to be a slave,

if you are dependent on government entitlements you just have a different

slave owner.

Islam; a German view!!!

 

Hard to argue with this:

A  German’s View on Islam – worth reading. This is one of the best explanations of the Muslim terrorist situation I have ever read. His references to past history are accurate and clear. Not long, easy to understand, and well worth the read. The author of this email is Dr. Emanuel Tanya, a well-known and well-respected psychiatrist.    A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and  estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.

‘Very few people were true Nazis,’ he said, ‘but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many  more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come.’

‘My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.’

‘We are told again and again by ‘experts’ and ‘talking heads’ that Islam is a religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.’

The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China ‘s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.’

‘The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet. And who can forget Rwanda , which collapsed into butchery? Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’?

‘History lessons are often  incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany , they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will  have begun.’

‘Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.’

‘Now Islamic prayers have been  introduced in Toronto and other public  schools in Ontario , and, yes, in  Ottawa ,  too, while the Lord’s Prayer was removed (due to being so offensive?). The  Islamic way may be peaceful for the time being in our country until the  fanatics move in.’

‘In Australia , and indeed in many countries around the world, many of the most commonly consumed food items have the halal emblem on them. Just look at the back of some of the most popular chocolate bars, and at other food items in your local supermarket. Food on aircraft have the halal emblem just to appease the privileged minority who are now rapidly expanding within the nation’s shores.’

‘In the U.K, the Muslim communities refuse to integrate and there are now dozens of “no-go” zones within major cities across the country that the police force dare not  intrude upon. Sharia law prevails there, because the Muslim community in those areas refuse to acknowledge British law.’

‘As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts – the fanatics who threaten our way of life.’

Lastly, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes this email without  sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand.

Extend yourself a bit and send  this on. Let us hope that thousands world-wide read this, think about it,  and send it on before it’s too late, and we are silenced because we were  silent!!!

Abba, Please bring them back

It’s been nearly two weeks since the despicable kidnapping of our boys.
… 3 innocent teenagers who never made it home to their families for Shabbat.

We keep wishing it was just an awful nightmare and that we will wake up to see the boys home – safe and sound.

We can’t wait anymore, the boys must be returned to their families immediately.

All of Israel is united in pain and prayer…

With Israel’s sudden deployment of huge numbers of soldiers in its mission to find and rescue our boys, there is an urgent need to provide the soldiers with extra food and supplies.

Dear Faithful Friend, It was a beautiful day and the first day of summer vacation. The Golan Heights were picturesque with rolling mountains and green trees reaching towards the clear blue sky. An Israeli Arab civilian contractor thought he would take advantage of the day to have his 15 year old son, Muhammed accompany him as he worked along the Syrian border. Everything seemed perfect as father and son looked forward to a wonderful day together. How many of us have had similar days when we have had the blessing of bringing our children to work with us. I too can remember when our son Evan would join me as I built homes in the Catskill Mountains in New York so long ago. But Muhammed’s father does not work in the peaceful Catskills but just a few meters away from Islamic terrorists whose passion is to kill innocent civilians. And in a moment, the seemingly idyllic became the worst of all nightmares. From across the border, a Jihadist militant launched a missile at the truck they were in, assuming that Jewish workers were in it. The projectile found its mark and in the explosion that followed, young Muhammed was killed. His father, along with two others were injured, one critically. What should have been a day to remember became a day that will haunt this man forever. Israel immediately responded with tank fire and last night, the Air Force carried out nine attacks against Syrian targets in a major escalation of tensions along the once quiet Syrian border. Ten Syrian soldiers were killed in the attack and Prime Minister Netanyahu warned Syria today that Israel “will continue to take forceful action against anyone who harms us or attempts to harm us.” The Gaza Strip Yesterday afternoon, in what has become again a daily event, the same scenario played out as an Islamic terrorist squad fired a missile from within the Gaza Strip towards Ashkelon, one of Israel’s large southern cities. Their intended goal was to kill as many Israeli civilians as possible. Fortunately, the city is protected by Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile defense system. Instantly, the waiting battery perceived the launch. In another heartbeat, it locked onto its trajectory. It completed some amazingly complex computations and seconds later launched a missile at the incoming projectile. It found its mark and the enemy missile fell to the ground, destroyed by advanced Israeli technology. This time, no one was hurt and no buildings destroyed. The Kidnapping Thousands of Israeli soldiers have poured into the West Bank in pursuit of the three kidnapped teens. While looking for the victims, they are also targeting the terrorist group Hamas, whom Israel holds responsible for the abductions. Every night the army searches hundreds of houses and carries out raids rounding up Hamas terrorists and apprehending and destroying weapon caches. To date, 300+ Hamas terrorists have been detained. Over sixty of the terrorists that were released in exchange for Gilad Shalit, Israel’s last kidnap victim, have been incarcerated again. The army claims to have intelligence that the boys are still in Hebron and are concentrating their search in this area. A young Arab boy murdered in the North. Missiles falling in the south. Thousands of Israeli soldiers scouring Judea and Samaria in search of the kidnapped Israelis. This is a current picture of life in Israel today. And amazingly, almost none of this is being reported in the Western press. Please keep praying for Israel’s security. The countries surrounding us (except for Egypt) are increasingly under the control of Islamic Radical groups and the old order of nations is disintegrating into something far darker and more dangerous. Pray for super natural protection from our enemies. Pray for wisdom for our national leaders, both army and government as they negotiate the treacherous diplomatic waters that are whirling about. Also, please pray for time. The wave of international impatience and anger against Israel is already growing. The Palestinian government is demanding a hearing in the Security Council over Israel’s “unjust response” to the kidnapping of three of their teenagers. Pray that Israel would have time to finish the necessary work, whose end is the return of the kidnapped boys. Please pray against any further kidnappings. The Presbyterian Church The Presbyterian Church, one of the historic mainline denominational churches has added another nail in their coffin. They have already embraced homosexual clergy and gay marriage but this past week they officially voted to disinvest from three large corporations that are guilty of “helping Israel to oppress the Palestinian people”. This disinvestment occurred because these companies sell products to Israel that help protect its people from terrorist attacks. They are also guilty of supplying tractors to help build Israeli homes in the very land that is promised to Israel forever in the Bible. Prime Minister Netanyahu summed up the absurdity of the vote to disinvest from Israel by saying, “that while much of the Middle East” was “riveted by religious hatred, and by savagery of unimaginable proportions,” Israel is “the one democracy that upholds basic human rights, that guards the rights of all minorities, that protects Christians.” Netanyahu advised the Presbyterians to “fly to the Middle East, come and see Israel for the embattled democracy that it is, and then take a bus tour, go to Libya, go to Syria, go to Iraq, and see the difference.” “I would give them two pieces of advice — one is make sure it’s an armor-plated bus, and second, don’t say that you’re Christian.” Zachariah 14 declares that on the day of Yeshua’s return HIS FEET WILL TOUCH DOWN ON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES. When the Presbyterians stand against Israel’s right to posess Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria- Israel’s promised eternal homeland, they are standing against the most repeated promise in the Bible. In so doing, they are aligning themselves with the spirit of the antichrist, whose end time goal is to remove the nation of Israel from the earth, thus making God a liar and preventing the return of Yeshua.  We thank you for standing with us in these difficult days. The Great Divider in the Neighborhood

To understand his game plan and how it can be overcome, we must look to his methodologies. Please see my important update below – Mat , Barack Obama, the man who emphatically campaigned on “unity” has, in fact, become “the great divider.” You may remember his campaign rhetoric in 2008… “I don’t want to pit red America against blue America. I want to be the President of the United States of America.” As it has turned out, nothing could have been further from the truth. President Obama is a dedicated student of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals,” tactical book for socialist takeovers of democratic societies. Alinsky’s book contains the core principle of “agitate, divide and conquer.” Here is a snapshot of Alinsky’s methodologies, as compiled by Jack Kerwick, which I believe you will find all too familiar. •“There can be no change if there is unity.” Barack Obama’s presidential legacy will be one of lawlessness and divisiveness. The great divide in our nation is being profoundly exploited by Barack Obama. Perceived racial injustices, “income inequality,” pitting the “haves” against the “have nots,” gender inequalities, the “war on women,” marriage “equality,” and hate crimes, just to name a few of the points of division he has festered in American culture.       •“Change is brought about by relentless agitation and trouble making that radically disrupts society as it is.” “The organizer ‘dramatizes…injustices’ and engages in ‘troublemaking’ by stirring up just those ‘angers, frustrations, and resentments’ that will eventuate in the ‘disorganization of the old and organization of the new.'”  •“No conversation between the organizer and his opponents (dehumanize the opponents). “The organizer’s objective is to demonize those who stand in the way of his designs for change.” •“The organizer can never focus on just a single issue and ‘must develop multiple issues.’ He must move inexhaustibly from one issue to the next.” Here, Barack Obama is a master of jumping from issue to issue, often concurrently. Healthcare reform, immigration reform, banking reform, campaign reform, climate change, the EPA’s attacks on energy sources, the economy, homosexual advocacies, releasing terrorists, Benghazi, foreign policy, the IRS, campaign reform… just to mention a few. It is exhausting as intended to be. The fact is, Barack Obama does not want unity. He wants to keep the country as polarized and disoriented as possible in order to “fundamentally transform” our nation into the image of a non-exceptional America.
